When you don't feel like writing

How do you motivate yourself on a day when you don't feel like writing, such as when you are exhausted or sick or just burned out? Do you have any special techniques?

That's a very good technique. Thank you. I will try it out. When you don

i dont really feel like that i just feel like i dont want to do anything sometimes lol

Burnout can bring on that feeling. Just have to rest more and get lots of sleep.

yeah i know but when you work 12 hour shifts 5-6 days a week sometimes you cant help but be burned out lol

Exactly. Burnout is common, however, you should also plan on taking breaks and rewarding yourself when you accomplish goals.

What helps most time is passion for writing. I lobe writing slot and sometimes if I want relax,I relax while writing do it more of an advantage to me than a problem.

I will suggest if one Is burn out instead of fighting to write one can just relax still one get a better insight to write than writing one would not be beneficial

What works for me all the time is the gains of what I want to do.When once I tell myself that this is the benefits of working this thing, I just gain this renewed strength to go on.

This is very true and sometimes exhaustion is unavoidable. All I can suggest is to spend your day off sleeping as this will make up for some of the stress you are having to put on your body. Also, if possible get up and move around during the day and get sunshine or walk outdoors for five or ten minutes. The fresh air will energize the brain and the time outside won't take away much from your work schedule but will leave you feeling ready for work again.

You can't really force your brain to cough up creative ideas if you are tired or not in the mood to write. However, you can still do many of the pre-requisites for writing, such as research, outlining and drafting of initial work. If you are doing any kind of creative writing, you could focus more on character profiles or development of plot lines.

When ever I need to write an urgent articles I shut myslef in a room and start writing. Another best way to motivate my self is I do not prefer writing when I am troubled or in a bad mood. I cannot concentrate that way.

I just make myself do it. I feel if I took on the task then I need to do it.

Remind yourself of all the bills you have to pay and then you are likely to find good motivation to complete your work. Sometimes, the mind can play tricks on you to tell you that it's OK to relax and take a break when you really need to push forward to get the job done. Even if you can't find the motivation to work, you should still make an effort.

I've already had writers' block for it is something that is bound to affect most of the creative writers we have around. However, to motivate oneself at the first of an existing writer's block is to look at the reward side of writing and try as much as they could to start writing immediately or after taking some rest as well.

When I get so tired that I can't write , I always sleep. I always postpone my work for the next day. Sometimes my brain is just too tired that thinking, talking or even eating becomes another task. So I prefer not to write when I am tired.

We have to accept the fact that our brain goes on low gear sometimes that we cannot write anything even if we read or try to inspire ourselves. My trick to overcome writer’s block is to go away from my writing area, take a walk or even drive. And when I go back, I could write again. But I have to admit that there were times that I really could not write no matter what diversion I do. In those cases, I just relax and do some other things with my writing scheduled for the next day. Don’t force yourself because you will only churn out a bad output.
