    Where do you place your email subscription box?

    For me, the email subscription box is in the upper right hand corner (blog column) as that is on the first fold and easily seen by anyone who visits the page. This position is working for me to get sign ups for my site newsletter and opt in rate is very good so far.

    I would put the box in an obvious place, such as the home page, side bar column or even beneath a list on your site. You might even add a subscription box to a lightbox/pop over that comes up a minute after the visitor hits the page.

    I would put the box in an obvious place, such as the home page, side bar column or even beneath a list on your site. You might even add a subscription box to a lightbox/pop over that comes up a minute after the visitor hits the page.


    Pop up boxes are annoying but can be effective for getting email subscribers, especially if what you are offering outweighs the momentary inconvenience of the pop up.

    Placing the optin box on your actual blog post will increase sign ups, especially from those who liked the content of your article. You will have more email subscription sign ups if you take time to detail what is included in your weekly mailings.
