Advertising for a local business to get national customers

For instance, let's say you own a local clothing shop and target the community for sales, but want to sell your clothes nationally to others who would order online. How could you go about targeting a national audience with your advertising for a local product/service/shop?

Facebook offers excellent targeting, even more so than Google Adwords. That's a good place to start for a small company.

With the present state of couriers and delivery brokers, online shopping is going great. Advertising your local business in social media is the best approach since it is not expensive or should I say it is actually free. Post your business on your timeline for your Facebook friends to see. And that’s it. I remember a Facebook friend some years back who was selling plants. He is from a faraway province but he was trying to sell nationally. He said that he is selling although his orders are in trickles.

I will continue advertising it locally as I did. I will also join a site like SEO or up work and freelancing where it is easy to get in touch with people from different countries. Advertising on such sites won't be difficult.

Forums make it easy too. I can talk about my business on forums and make it clear that I do shipping worldwide or mention the specific countries.
