    There are many forms of marketing, even word of mouth, not just blatant advertising, which usually takes the form of a sales page or ad in a printed medium.

    Advertising and marketing are linked. However, these two concepts have a slight difference. Advertising is you place your ads on various channels, from Ads on Adwords and Facebook, to the newspaper ads. Marketing is an overall plan to promote your business and products. marketing uses various channels can continue for a long time.

    Advertising is just letting people know about the products and services one offers or intend to offers and it also promoting it to boost sales while marketing is the after shooting of advertising which comes with actual selling of the products. I will say advertising precedes marketing. One can advertise without selling just creating awareness but you market with intention of selling.

    From my own understanding and by using simple terms, advertising is letting people know that your business, skills or product exists. When you advertise, you are making people aware of what you are advertising about. When it comes to marketing, you are letting people test your product or business. Marketing involves selling your item or skills.
