    Misleading vs False Advertising

    What is the difference between misleading vs false advertising? With false advertising, the advertiser (or company who is advertising the product or service), purposefully lies about what is being advertised to gain a sale. However, misleading advertising is not so blatant as a lie. Can you explain to me how a 'misleading ad' is different or similar to false advertising?

    They are in the same "general impression" as well as its literal meaning. The point of addressing false or misleading representations and deceptive marketing practices in promoting products should be avoided. It's a bad act.

    If you tell a person, 'You will receive A and then ship them Product B', that is false advertising. If you say, 50% off and charge their credit card the full price, that is false advertising. And, yes there are civil and possibly criminal penalties for false advertising. There are many convoluted laws applying to advertising which you should take time to learn.

    False advertising clearly means it is not truthful with the claims. In other words, false advertising is a lie while misleading advertising is something that comes with a slant. A misleading advertisement per se is true although it is pointing towards something that is not right. One example of misleading advertisement is the so called fine print in the contract that when you fail to see the catch then you are caught.

    The description you have given about false advertising is true since the advertiser knows the truth but he or she will still go ahead and lie. Misleading advertising is the one that is directing you to do something that should not be done. When you are misleaded, you are tricked into thinking that the product advertised works in a certain way or will produce certain results when it won't.

    False advertising is outright scamming people with a totally fake product or service.Noting one is advertising hs to do with the advertisement.You're advertising A but selling B which has no connection but misleading is yes you're selling what you're advertising but the information is just bogus for the product sold.Just like saying a drug can cure almost all the deadly diseases when it can only cure cough.
