Well, I think that google is still on top of all of the search engines. If you were to compare any of the two out on the web I think that comparing Bing to Yahoo would be the closest to the same anwser. Personally I dont use any of them besides Google.

This reminds me of the wrestling match between a big muscled wrestler against the tandem of 2 small wrestlers. What can the pair of small wrestlers do against such a big muscled wrestler? Now this question about the search engines – what can the partnership of Bing and Yahoo do to upstage Google in the search engine industry? I don’t think it will matter even if all the search engines will be together against Google.

Well, I think that google is still on top of all of the search engines. If you were to compare any of the two out on the web I think that comparing Bing to Yahoo would be the closest to the same anwser. Personally I dont use any of them besides Google.

How about the remaining 30%? Does that mean, you are ok with that 70% traffic from Google? Wouldn't it be better if you also have that 30% from other SEs?

Nobody is perfect ! Also, getting remaining 30% is really difficult. The reason is simple, you can't predict how bing or other search engine works. There are not many researches on them.

p.s. nobody can squeeze 70% of traffic from google !!

I guess the reason for taking bing and yahoo for granted/ignoring is that they know not many uses these search engines. Also, the returns after doing lot of hardwork is less for bing and yahoo.

Yup, I've used yandex quite a lot when I was targeting Russians. Yandex is No.1 search engine in Russia, so you have to use it when you are concentrating traffic from a specific region.

They are not succeeding in there attempt ! It is google, which is still going strong. I guess for next 2-3 years google will still rule search engine market.

I know it could take a little more time for Yahoo/Bing to index a new site compared to Google, but still, it is indexed, not totally ignored.

For a long time, I didn't use Google search. It didn't seem relevant. But at some point it got more popular than Yahoo, so now that's all I ever use.

I guess that rumor was spread almost a year ago. Now, bing has there own algorithm. Atleast they claim it they habve there own database, search crawler and algo.

I don't think they are doing it now. Upto my knowledge google already pulled MS for this long long ago, and it was settled.
