If your work or college is blocking a specific site, you can use Google as a proxy to get a sneak peek at the site.
Simply search: cache:example.com
google's cache can be too old ! Instead you can use glueproxy or any famous proxy to browse sites from school or any place ;)

Yup ! Most of the proxy sites are legal and safe to use. I've been using glypeproxy since 3 years, and never faced any problem. Also, you can try premium proxies, if you are worried about spyware :)

The proxy sites which you are talking about are freely available. Some proxies are premium proxies, which aren't banned at many places :). You can subscribe to there membership and browse anything from anywhere :D
