How fast should you get backlinks?

Should you aim for 100 backlinks gained daily? Is that too many? How many backlinks is too many to get every day?

Just depends on how old your site is? For instance, if your site is new, it would look odd to be getting 100 backlinks daily. Google might see that as fake. Also, unless you had really good viral marketing, it would be odd to attract, so many natural, editorial backlinks in a day. Conversely, a well known brand such as Coca-Cola or Apple could easily attract hundreds or thousands of backlinks daily. And, that could be just fine with Google as those are brands that everyone knows about.
