    Why are Facebook likes so important?

    Why is it so important to have so many likes on Facebook? Do these likes ever amount to anything?

    Just from my point of view, I would think that likes are important as a way to show others that you have a popular page.

    But do likes serve any greater purpose than that?

    How important we see Facebook likes is simply as a result of the fact that likes are like recommendation that such person is making good and quality posts on a daily basis. That will make other friends on Facebook take notice of you.

    The way I see it, Facebook likes is just a number that can inspire you to continue posting. Let’s say you have a post with zero likes. If that condition stays for days, would you post again? And if your subsequent posts would be the same zero in likes in spite of having many friends in Facebook, you probably would stop posting. The number of likes that your Facebook post gets is directly proportional to your ego.
