    What type of internet do you predict in 50 years time?

    As the title suggests,

    In 50 years time,

    Will isp providers be obsolete?

    Will the internet be controlled by Governments?

    Will future wars just be Cyber attacks?

    Will Google exist?

    Will SEO exist?

    etc etc

    Nobody has a crystal ball to see into the future but I would love to see your predictions.

    I bet google will fail, something better will come.

    I hope the Internet is not controlled by the government but in some countries, it already is (china).

    I bet it will continue to be faster, become wireless and be virtually everywhere you go.

    I think that it will still be around. I doubt that we will ever get rid of it. I hope not I rely on it too much.

    I am sure that it will just get better, faster. And yes I can see how google could fail and have something else better come along. Something better always comes along.

    I am not sure if many of us will be alive after 50 years, but I am sure internet will be highly advanced.

    50 years is a very long time, it is really hard to predict what will happen after 50 years.

    To be honest, I cannot think of a possible scenario 50 years from now because technology is so fast with its development. Even in 10 years, I can't say if the internet will be the same like at present. Some years back, there was a move to change the IP addressing so that security can be enhanced. Maybe that direction can be pursued or 50 years from now, the IP addressing method will be much better. How about having a fixed and identifiable IP address so the hackers can be identified? Just like the phone number of the landline huh. That would be great, isn't it?

    Nice Question! In my opinion Internet would evolve and would have another name by then. Also there would be a virtual world that people could literally live and work in like another reality. It would be like the Matrix movie.
