What made you happy today?

I got a call from one of my best friends today that I had not heard from in over a month. I'm just so happy about that as I had worried so much that she was not well. This is what made me happy today. I will have hot chocolate and enjoy a favorite show and call it a perfect day.

I was able to sit with my grandmother for half an hour to watch her favorite TV show. At the time, all I could think about was how much work I have left to do with my studies. But, then I noticed how happy she was. Once I relaxed and stopped thinking what else I needed to be doing, then I was able to just be in that moment and not worry about anything else. I think I will sleep very good tonight as I made her so happy just by spending time with her.

I can eat and have the roof over the head. For now that is a good thing about making myself happy. You can see that being happy requires a lot of work. And if you can work harder on some of the things it is possible for one to go ahead. There are people who can just live for a day and that is sometimes enough to get things done as well.

I randomly danced around the kitchen with my mother on one of her favorite songs while helping her cook. Such cute random things just make my day brighter and makes me so happy that I got to spend such lovely time with my mother as a break from continuous work.

I am alive, my kids are healthy and happy. We have a roof over head, food to eat and great friends and family. I am surrounded by love and makes me feel so blessed and thankful. Sometimes, we tend to take these things for granted.

I was able to see my God-son and God-daughter finally. My job has been very demanding, and it had been about 2 months since the last time I saw them. We could play together, have a proper home made meal, talk about all the things they have been doing, and give us a lot of hugs. Those kids are like literally my sunshine, they made my day for sure.

Finally I could speak with a friend, I didn't have any news about him since months ago. That was amazing, because I was seriously concerned about what happened to him, but thank God everything is good. He had bad issues with his cell phone, and didn't have access to Internet, so now that he finally could solve the problem, he's in touch again. So good to speak to my dear friend again.

I always try to find a reason to be happy every day. But the saying that you should be thankful that you woke up today which means you are alive is a good one. For today, I woke up early and we had a nice breakfast. That fried rice with corned beef hash plus orange juice is enough reason for me to be happy. Such little things that can make me happy are big deal to me.
