How to use Snapchat for promotion and marketing as an affiliate?

It's always good to expand your horizons and as an affiliate marketer by promoting your brand or products and services on different social media sites other than what you're traditionally using. And if it's not Instagram it's Whatsapp its Facebook or Twitter. But unlike other social media sites, your images only last for 10 seconds and images are deleted forever once opened on Snapchat. So since marketing and promoting things usually relies on promotional images and call-to-actions that are permanent. What are some ways you can use Snapchat as an affiliate marketer or even for strengthening your brand?

The Snapchat app might have got a bit dominated by nudies at the start, it's veered away from that and grown up a bit now and many big respectable businesses are now using it to build brand awareness and increase community engagement through innovative and clever Snapchat marketing campaigns that make full use of the 10 second window.

So knowing this, what are some good ways to use Snapchat to promote, market or advertise your affiliate offers, products or services?

Hmmmm that's a good question. I've wondered for a while now how someone could use snapchat to get clients and sales but I couldn't think of many things. I do know that if you're marketing on snapchat you'll need a pretty big budget, at least $75,000, and you have to be willing to lose it How to use Snapchat for promotion and marketing as an affiliate? I say you have to be willing to lose it because I can't imagine that snapchat has a lot of conversions. I can see it as a good way to build a brand with milennials, but that's about it. Well, you might be able to hit an age range up to 35, but that's the absolute highest. Snapchat is used much more by kids in highschool than it is by people in their 30s. It's a new way to send selfies and snippets of video to your friends and that attracts the younger crowd in waves, but it's hard to capitalize on I would think.

Ways you could build a brand with snapchat:
make your snap funny and easy to remember
Add your URL to the snap so that people can type in your URL after they watch your snap.

Those are really the only two things I can think of because snaps are quick so you have to make it fun and easy to remember. You can't add a call to action so you'll need to add your URL in the snap somewhere so people can manually type it into their address bar later.

The downside to this is that people will watch your snap and move on to another, forgetting about yours. They will also be lazy most of the time and not type the URL into the address bar of their browser because they don't want to leave snapchat.

What does everyone else think?

I'd love to hear some marketing ideas for snapchat.

I only heard of Snapchat before in the line of sending nudies before like you say so now trying to think of it in terms of marketing is a big of a brain twister for me!

I can't see it being that big for online marketing though. You can't have a clickable link and it just disappears after 10 seconds?

Maybe huge corporations with big marketing budgets could make good use of it... but someone like me that has a small online business and not such a huge marketing budget? It is not something I will ever go for myself.

I think that the time span to see the image for a meager 10 seconds is just too little. You would need to come up with something really creative and innovative to make an impact and make sure it is recalled and acted upon. As stated above it seems that advertising costs are very high for those interested to use SnapChat. So I guess it is something that is not quite suitable for an affiliate marketer. If it is a large profitable business with a substantial advertising budget I guess SnapChat could be an option but other than that I do not think it is that worthwhile as there are other better advertising options available.

I don't use whatsapp or snapchat. Therefore, I don't know whether it is possible to market on these apps. I don't even know whether they have a web version. As for now, I am happy to tap the market with the traditional social media sites.

Snapchat is mostly used by the younger generations here. I remember my husband when he attended a funeral and the sister of the deceased engaged the chat of a relative. That relative gave the phone to my husband to talk with the sister. But my husband was shocked to see his face on the screen with ears of an elephant. He didn’t know that the relative was using snapchat on her phone.
