What about giving buyers an incentive to approve orders quicker and give feedback?

I just posted this suggestion in the discussion but thought I would give it its own thread too.

I have seen a common theme in a few discussions.

Buyers in general don't approve orders quickly or at all, leaving the system to automatically approve them.

This sucks for two reasons.

Firstly the seller sits waiting longer for payment which is just not nice. Yes I know what it says in the terms and conditions, but wouldn't you the seller be happier if completed orders were approved quicker anyway?

Secondly (and most importantly) if the order gets automatically approved there is no opportunity for the buyer to give feedback or make a recommendation. If the buyer can't be bother to approve the order I am sure the buyer won't bother coming back to add feedback.

This just sucks for everyone involved because I want to read feedback on a seller I haven't used before. I want to know if this seller is trusted or not and what others experienced.

My suggestion here is to offer some sort of incentive to the buyer to approve the order as soon as possible after it is completed and importantly to also add feedback.

I have no idea what sort of incentive could be used... but if buyers were encouraged to be more on the ball and involved after they have received their order surely it will make SEO Clerk a better place for everyone involved?

It is a pity that many buyers do not bother to review orders and rate them. I believe that it is common courtesy for a buyer to take a couple of seconds to approve an order and leave a short thank you message to the seller who spent so much time completing that particular service. I do not agree with offering a discount, because I already get part of my earnings deducted to pay the fee to the site, so I do not want to lower them further. I think it would be great if sellers could rate buyers by giving stars rather than just how it is currently. Maybe it could encourage them to be more responsive.

Yes I agree that giving discount is possibly not the best way to do things. Maybe the more stars a buyer has the more preferential treatment? I just can't help thinking that if a buyer can't be bothered to mark an order as completed then they also won't be too impressed with stars?

Hi Lynne thanks for pointing a nice topic and offer as incentive to buyer to order complete. I completely agree with you. Completing order for get paid quick is very importance for a seller and another things it also importance, if buyer complete order with rating and future buyer will get help for purchase service from that seller. It is simultaneously importance for both buyer and seller. But, as per as I know lot of buyer do not come online after purchase of order even after 1 or 2 months. And my question is how it offer incentive for them? And some of buyer even do not know how to complete order? So, how to offer them incentive for completing order? And it is good idea and I have now argument, If you able to give them incentive for complete order and if buyer agree to complete order within quickest time and with nice feedback. But, I am sure buyer who missed this section for completing order or who do not know how importance it is? Anyhow you will not able to give them incentive. And such type of buyer a lot of on SEOclerks.

Well I honestly can't see how someone can place an order, know how fast it is going to take to be completed and then not be aware of the fact that they should mark the order as completed. If someone is using this website I am sure that 80 - 90% of all buyers are aware that they should mark the order as completed?

Hey Lynne,
Something like that should increase the feedbacks, but it would also depend on what they would get by doing it. I mean, buyers who's not interested in leaving their feedbacks or recommendations, they won't do it in case they can't benefit from it. So, the thing they get needs to be of value.. Do you have anything at all in mind? The very first thing that came to mind was some sort of discount. 5% discount or something, on whatever service they order. But, that would obviously make SEOClerks less profitable..

Sellers themselves could add something like that. As a small gift. "If you leave me feedback I'll give you 10% discount on your next order!" or whatever, but that would only work on their own services.. And honestly, it shouldn't be necessary. Buyers should leave feedback when they've dealt with a seller... but it's a very common thing, that they don't.

Best Regards,

Well see this is where my idea fell short yesterday. I had no ideas for what sort of incentive I could give.

How about something like this (but it might be quite complicated)... some sort of ranking system for buyers whereby the faster they approve orders the better their ranking. If they leave feedback (good or bad because it must be honest feedback) they also get an improved ranking.

I would think that recommendations should not be taken into account because this might make people leave recommendations where they are not due.

Then sellers can decide to give these buyers better rates or discounts if they order services, if they choose to. They can decide not to give anything at all to "gold star" buyers or they can give a really nice discount.

Oooh you could even give discount according to ranking. So for example a 1 star buyer gets 1% discount, a 2 star buyer gets 2% discount... etc
