Why I love WTB's and how they helped me get started

So, I've been seeing a lot of new sellers coming onto Seoclerks, and just a week ago I was one of them with no sales.
But then I started getting alerts about WTB's. I didn't know what these were at first.
It's basically like an auction, but a lot better than that. You compete with other sellers who put a bid on the service required.

I wanted to say a word about the pricing -
Having the lowest price will only get you less money for a service that should be worth more. That is a waste of time to me, you might be getting your first sale but you are sacrificing your time. If the buyer wants to keep buying from you, you would need to keep selling to them at that price - so in the long run you could lose hundreds of dollars.

So I suggest you price your service at what it is worth, not is what is going to get you the sale. Don't be greedy with your buyer either.

Make sure you know how to do the service. You do not want to end up with a negative rating and waste your buyer's time. The WTB's are based on the skills in your profile. So only do things you know how to do. And with no sales, the last thing you want is a negative rating. This would completely ruin your seller reputation.

For long time i also recommend all new users to try get first sales from WTB, specially if they can't sell own service. It's more flexible and negotiable at WTB and easier to get few jobs to get some positive feedbacks

Yeah, I'm only getting sales because of WTB's. But I'm guessing if I get enough and become level 2, then people would start buying my services directly from me. I keep bumping my services, I get a bookmark or two but nobody buys.

Orders will come in time, don't worry. Just keep on delivering high quality and make each client you have satisfied. You'll get recurring customers and build your reputation at the same time. It looks like you're doing the right thing here, and it looks like you've found a good way to become an established seller. Just continue to work in the same way you do.

Have you ever thought to create a website as a portfolio to showcase your work? You could add the website link, along with samples of your work in your service's description to bring in more buyers. Also, do you offer logo design services? People often want logos, and if you could offer this service on the marketplace you can probably crush most of the competition here if you can create them.

I would definitely see about buying a domain, getting some hosting and sampling your work on there. Not only could you get traffic, but you can definitely get more sales that way.

I have a website, I'm working on the footer still and putting final touches. My dad has a huge hosting company so that's all good. The only problem is watermarking my work which will take hours.
I will ask my dad ways to do this, he is a html coder so.
Thanks for the advice though, it really seems like something to do.
I am making a logo design service tomarrow when I buy this new software for logo design.
I'm using the money that I earned, to make more!

Yes but isn't that true with anything new you start? It takes a bit of time to find your feet, figure out how everything works on the new site you are trying out...how to get noticed past all the oldies that have a solid customer base and good ratings?

I'm sure it is tough, but there is always a way to get there with hard work and dedication.

It is not about being new - what matters is that you retain your dedication and keep trying. In time you will do better and become more popular - as long as you offer a great service to your buyers.

After all each and every one of us started from Level 1 and had to do their first sale sometime.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm glad you're using the WTB section and I'm glad you've found some success using it.

The Want-To-Buy (WTB) section is often overlooked, especially among established seller who already has recurring customers, so you're doing the right thing here. Use it and reap the benefits of it

Yes I agree that when we start getting orders we often forget about the WTB section. Actually come to think of it, I used to check it daily, but now that I am getting orders regularly it has been a while since I checked it out. So I guess it is a nice thing that it gives a little bit of an advantage to new sellers

I agree with you that WTBs could help new sellers get started. Since you have the possibility of seeing sort of a ' wanted ' advert, you can get to bid and hope that the creator of the WTB chooses you. To improve your chances makes sure you demonstrate what you are capable of doing, and that you can complete the service well and within a given time. These factors are more important than the price. Even though the requester may have suggested a low price, be realistic with what you bid. You do not want to go too low or too high.

Hi Nextant thanks for sharing your practical experience. I am sure this will help to new comer who only want to sell service by sell section. I always try to highlighted want to buy (WTB) section and really this section make unique SEOclerks compare with other micro job sites. And most of the newbie do not know how to start sell on SEOclerks and maximum going to create some services and try to sell. But, by WTB section any new user can sell their individual experience and can get some good rating. Buyer also can offer job very often according to their needs. But, I saw sometimes buyers offering price very unfair with very low price or budget. My suggestion to new seller do not sell your knowledge with cheap and make your product price always fair and standard.
