Do you listen to music while you work?

Do you listen to music while you work? What kind?

I personally prefer to listen to classical music while I work.. I might pull up a nice Bach station on Apple Music, or one based on Chopin's nocturnes.

Songs with lyrics kind of mess me up, because I'm too interested in what they're saying. I will enjoy some opera, if it's performed in a language that I don't understand. Same for choral.

I often work in silence. I know some people find it impossible, but it's quite pleasant for me.

How about you? What's your daily work soundtrack like?

I listen to music and news while working tedious or repetitive tasks. When I am doing work that requires concentration and focus I keep it quiet in my work space to eliminate distractions.

yes ,i do,, iam usually listening music to relaxing our minds,, it will relief some stress out during while day ,,
my music gnre are jazz,pop,hip hop
but after all i will stop it and continuely our work,,because i cannt do the job while listen music,, i cannt concentration,,
i would rather quite in my workspace,,
it's quite free methods to refreshing our stress,,

I rarely put on any music. I prefer to work in complete silence. If I hear my neighbors I shut the window because even that bothers me sometimes. I occasionally put on a classical instrumental track, but that is very rare. The 'background music' that I have to listen to while working (which is no music to my ears at all) is the sound effects of some game or cartoons that my kids are engaged in now that they have their summer holidays... but I cannot do anything about that unfortunately and I cannot make them wear earphones all day long.

I find that very interesting that you work in silence and that we are usually doing similar things... most of what I do is content writing for my websites.

I find it hard to concentrate when I write if there is music playing and often I also have to work to the sound of my 4 year old singing at the top of her voice, or to her kids channel on tv LOL. And yes trying to make a child quiet is impossible, I've tried plenty times!

Hey bobjoehax3,
Of course I listen to music! Music is on during all of my working hours. No matter what!
As I'm a huge fan of X Factor, Swedish Idol, American Idol and all of those, I usually play videos from the auditions. I love the auditions!

A few of my favorites would be:

So I basically just press "start" and let these play during the hours I'm awake. Or at least when I'm working. I don't listen to music if I play games or when I'm watching movies. (And yeah, I had to mention movies as one of my friends actually do this!)

I love music and so does my wife! We tend to work better when the music is on and blasting. An upbeat kind of music helps to keep us going and helps us stay awake, especially if we are working late at night! Sometimes I feel that we work better when the music is going. Maybe if you find the right type of melody or beat, it could help you too!!! Thanks

Hi bobjoehax3 thanks for your question. I think this type of question may previously discuss on CD. Yes I like music and I love to listen soft music. I am not much listen while I am in work. And it is distraction on my work while I do serious job. But sometimes I listen music in office while I am off work or I feel bore after doing long time job. And mostly I prefer to listen music while I am in home and in holiday.
I have lot of favorite songs but here few for you:

Yes I do listen to music most of the times when I am working. I have noticed that listening to music makes me feel relaxed and the ideas keep flowing. I listen to different types of music while working. However, when I am doing certain tasks I can't really listen to music as I need to concentrate.

I now listen to music only when I am driving alone. Maybe it is my age huh. When I was younger, I couldn't study without music. And even when I got a job, I prefer to listen to music while working. But little by little, it seems like I was losing my concentration when there is music while I work. So there, I now prefer a quiet place when I write.

I do.in fact it like a ritual for me.I love to listen to hiphop music while I work,it helps keep the tempo and the rhythm of my work high.

Music makes me feels very high to write, it helps put me in the right frame of mind and I go with the flow till I stop writing.
