Has brexit affected you as a freelancer?

I am sure that if you have watched the news recently, then you would have heard of Brexit. On the 23rd of June, the United Kingdom held a referendum to vote on whether they should leave or remain in the European Union. The results came out that 52% of the people voted to leave the EU. Brexit means Britain exits which is a phrase short for saying Britain is leaving the EU.

Has Brexit affected you in any way as a freelancer?

After the referendum, the pound has dropped significantly and I sell services online for US dollars due to marketplaces and customers using it. Since the pound dropped, I managed to get more money when I convert the money back into pounds so I benefited from that.

I haven't seen much differences yet. Everything is going quite the same as it was going before Brexit took place. I think we need to wait for some time to see the actual effect of Brexit for freelancer and outsourcing market.

No it has not affected me, and I hope it won't. I cannot understand the reasoning behind their decision to leave the EU to be honest and what worries me is that other countries may be interested to do the same. That would be problematic maybe, as it will lead to a much bigger effect. I am not much into economics but I guess it will lead to various issues if a number of countries decide to leave the EU.

It may be a bit too early to detect if it actually effects the country where you live in. As an online income earner, or freelancer, or whatever type of label you want to use, I can honestly say that it hasn't effected me yet. This could change in the future, as with anything else. I always say, don't put all of your eggs in one basket. That means basically to look for other opportunities, invest, and strive to be better.

It seems the internet will create an independent business area, even if major political decisions are created by countries...
