Does anyone use Pretty Link or another plugin to hide your links?

I was advised a while back to use the Pretty Link plugin to make all my links on my website well pretty.

Do any other affiliate marketers use a plugin for this too?

I know some websites don’t allow link cloaking though, like Amazon so I don’t use Pretty Link for those links.

What do you do and what do you recommend?

Can a link shortening service like bitly work for affiliate links on your website?

I use Pretty Link plugin in one of my WordPress website and never had any problems with that. Look like good idea to hide affiliate links or any other. I also use public link shortener like is.gd goo.gl or bit.ly They all work the same i guess like Pretty Link.

Why wasn't this plugin available when I had a Wordpress blog?! This would have saved me so much time! I used the Bit.ly links, before Wordpress had any addons or plugins for bit.ly. I had to manually create the links, and post them in the article, it was a time consuming and monotonous process.

I love the fact that the plugin uses your domain, however I'm wondering if you can create a subdomain like "go.website.com" and create Pretty links that way? I don't see any documentation, however I believe this can be done by switching up the plugin code..

Well I use my Pretty Links wherever I want to. It is easier to remember a Pretty Link that your affiliate link... so for example my Pretty Link for SeoClerks is just my website domain with /seoclerks

This makes it so easy to just type it out when I need it instead of finding my affiliate link and copying it.

Very convenient.

Oh, that is very neat. Does it automatically redirect to the SEOclerks marketplace with your affiliate link?

How is the Pretty Links plugin in regards to SEO? Do you think it'll have a negative effect or positive?

Yes that is right Everett, so if anyone clicks on my pretty link they come straight here, but I can track the clicks on my website

I am honestly not sure about the effect on SEO but I am sure it is not negative at all simply because my posts usually rank really well.

Well "Pretty links" is the name of WordPress plugin which shortening you URL addresses, similar to what you get on Goo.gl or Bit.ly

Well firstly it will cloak your link and make it pretty. An affiliate link is usually a long, ugly link.

The other thing is that using a Pretty Link means you can track the amount of clicks easily and measure your links performances.

Another bonus is that affiliate links are not easy to remember so if you want to add it to your content it is not like you can just type it out. With a pretty link you often can just type it out easily, plus all your affiliate links and your pretty links for them are stores in one easy place in the plugin

Well those are the benefits as I understand them and experience them.
