    Lock this account option - should I do it?

    In the settings area https://www.seoclerk.com/settings, at the bottom of the page there is the option to ' Lock your account ' . I would like to learn more about it please. Did you ever do this? Should I do it? Thanks for your help and clarifications.

    Locking your account
    When you "lock your account", your profile can not be updated. It's an old security measure in place, but it's a good one. You should lock your account if you are using public internet, or at a shady friends house while accessing your account. To remove the lock you'll need to contact support as they are the only ones whom can unlock the account for you.

    Suspending your account
    It just makes it so you can't log in, and it doesn't show up. The account doesn't get deleted. It's quite similar to the ban feature, however the account isn't 'banned'. You're just prevented from accessing the account. If you suspended your account and want access again you can request to reactivate the account once again by the support team.

    Thank you for your clear explanations Everett. I think it is best that a short description is placed near the options, especially the Lock Account one, as it is easy to get confused what it is all about, as happened in my case. I was tempted to press it as I thought it was a feature that could have enabled my account to be secured in terms of funds especially.

    There are two options in the settings area, one is lock and one is suspend. I am not sure what these do but my best guess is that the Suspend button deletes your account and the lock button deactivates your account. Unless, you want to leave SEO Clerks, I don’t think you should use the “lock your account” button as it may be difficult to gain access to your account again. I have never tried it and probably won’t try it but I would like to know what those buttons actually do and I am sure Bev can explain it to us.

    See Everett's answer, he is correct. The lock your account prevents any changes to your settings area - someone could not hack your account, change your PayPal email and then withdraw your funds. Suspend deletes/deactivates your account.

    Additionally, for the sake of security, you are fairly well protect here especially if you've added anything in the security section. If an unknown device access your account you'll get an email, the unknown device will be prompted to answer a security question, secondary password or text verification. Furthermore, to change your email or PayPal or Payza email address, you have to verify the change via email. There is so much security here I'm baffled how I can even access my own account!

    I was also wondering about this option. I thought it was like some sort of security feature that would add additional safety for my account?

    Yes that is what I thought as well but I was sort of afraid to press it without knowing what it actually entailed. So I thought it would be best to ask first.
