Doorway pages are web pages that are created for spamdexing, this is, for spamming the index of a search engine by inserting results for particular phrases with the purpose of sending visitors to a different page. They are also known as bridge pages, portal pages, jump pages, gateway pages, entry pages and by other names. Doorway pages that redirect visitors without their knowledge use some form of cloaking.

I remember the jump off page that I had read in one forum. It is like a landing page that has a “redirect” to proceed to the proper web page. I didn’t see the connection at first because the doorway page looked junk until I realized that it can add traffic. When someone searches for a particular web page and brought to the doorway page then that is already 2 hits by 1 visitor. The use of the doorway page is like doubling the amount of traffic that your site gets.
