How to get people to generate your content for FREE

Now I'm a full time internet marketer and I was trying to think of how I could get people to write content for me. I would have to monitor the content and approve what is good and disapprove what is bad, but that's ok with me.

Basically all you would have to do is generate a bit of content to pull in the traffic. After you have some traffic you can then go to a blogging page on facebook and post something like "Add content to my blog (or website) and you can get some of my traffic". The beauty of this is that they will only get traffic if someone clicks the link in their signature, which people are becoming blind to any ways lol How to get people to generate your content for FREE I would not post anything to do with making money for posting because you'll get everyone applying.

You'll want to pick the right places to find writers. If you're launching a dog related website, you're not going to want to post on a bloggers page that focuses on cars. If you find people already knowledgeable in the field, you'll get better content in the long run.

You can use Wordpress and allow people to register as authors and post their own content. Just be careful with this, you don't want to give them too much freedom How to get people to generate your content for FREE

So now you have some content of your own and some from your writers. If you are able to, you can start paying the writers who are actually producing quality work and don't complain too much lol. You can use the revenue from your ads and do a split of the profits if you'd like.

If you have a few writers creating content daily, you can have a blog or news website flourish with traffic and you can eventually sell the website for a good amount of cash How to get people to generate your content for FREE

In the real honest world this would be great idea. I have done this in the past and i don't have best experience with what you recommended here. I created Web 2.0 website and done all steps as you actually mentioned in your post. Ohhh it was great start and many were interested to post. But in meantime, while search engine start rising my site in SERP more and more spammers were coming to submit posts even hourly. i was so busy by (un)approving posts that i was almost full time engaged with that website. After some weeks i had like hundreds of posts to approve daily but spam was increasing up to 90% so it made me really sick. Spammers started creating bots to spam my site so badly that i couldn't handle so much overload.... I didn't give up on it yet, but i reduced number of authors to only 10-15, which is not what i meant to be, but it's hard and time consuming to deal with so much spam posts

yeah, the bots can get pretty intense. The higher you rank in the SERPs the more likely you'll be visited by an SEO persons software wanting to make a post for a link back to their site lol How to get people to generate your content for FREE

All you would have to do is put proper spam protection in place. If the user is flagged as suspicious, they won't be able to post, or even register lol. I've used plenty of these as well as recaptcha by google. There are some free ones out there like googles recaptcha, but the really googd ones with extensive databases you'll have to pay for.

There is one simple layer of protection needed. Those who signup o your site should not automatically be given author or contributor status. If you force them to request a status upgrade and fill out a form, that will kill most of it.

It is a good idea and I like it! It sounds like the Achilles heel for this system are the bots and spammers that will destroy this business. I'll bet if you focused on the solution for combating the spammers and bots this model could work. Maybe instead of trying to block spammers and bots through the current methods create a rules based system that stops spammers and bots in their tracks before the damage is done. I am sure it can be solved with a lot of deep thought and time. I think it would be interesting to find out what everyone is doing now to combat spam and bots, including software or tools used. This could lead to some new insights and potentially some new methods to combat these problems. Maybe a new thread on this topic?

Say that I created a website that authors could post their content, such as images, articles, posts, videos, etc. Now, how would one go about copyrighting the website, but not the authors content? Which licenses would be needed? I have thought about creating a website for this in the past, however I have failed to come to any conclusions about the legal aspect of whom owns the content: Author or Website?

If an author owns the content that is placed on the website, and a C & D was created for the content, who is at fault, the author or the website? Generally C & Ds go to the website, but is it the author's responsibility to take down the content, or the website owners? Just some general questions for those that have done this type of website in the past.

Hmmmm I think the easiest way around that is to put something in the TOS that says if you post copyrighted material then it will be removed. If the user does this multiple times and gets various infractions, they will be banned from posting.

It's harsh, but it will stop it pretty quick. You can just delete the posts that are getting the C and D, and if the user is banned, they can't come back in and post the content again.

Oh I would be so nervous to do this, especially giving anyone access to post things to my website, I am just too much of a control freak for that. What if people just copy and paste content onto my website or add content that is not up to my standards?

I'm hesitating still even about hiring a freelance content writer! I have decided that I will do it, I have chosen my content writers and I trust them... I just can't bring myself to actually push that button to place the order!

I'm pretty sure there are systems that run the content through services like copyscape and you can have a script that doesn't allow duplicate content. If copyscape, or other system, comes back saying the post is duplicate content then the script restricts the post from being published. I'm not sure if there is something out there that will restrict the post, but I'm sure someone could program it How to get people to generate your content for FREE

Your idea seems just another form of Guest Posting. The only thing that is different is that people will become a lot more involved and active.
You have to give them something, nobody will work for free, sure links in a signature is a good start, lots of forums do this too for years now.

The problem would be low quality content that will arise from all this. People will just follow their own interest, building as much links as possible.

Moderating each will also become pretty tricky since people may will lose interest after the first post and especially when They'll have to wait for their free written content to be approved.

I reality, I don't think there is a way to make people generate good quality content for free. You NEED to give them something in return, may not money, but they still have to profit in some way from writing on your blog/website.

If you have a forum or a discussion board you can get free contents. You can also generate content for free by encouraging people to leave comments on your blog posts. Once I wrote and published an article on head scarf issue, The article was 700 words, however, I have over 200 comments with more than 100 words each. Imagine what a nice content I got for free on my blog beside free traffic.

I think forums and some of the content based sites can get the content for free. And here the issue is that you have to make people think of the content. That's how the people can get to know how the content matters. So when we say their opinion is something can be generated a good content. That is reciprocation for something. So many people pay for the content. And some of them just open forum or some blog. And let people have their voice on it. That's how it is working for them I am guessing.

If you have forums and user-generated content site, you can get free contents on your site. However, in order to make the users active, you will have to offer some incentives (free advertising or affiliate marketing for instance).
Guest posting is also a wonderful way to get free content. You can get free blog post by giving backlinks.

True. I think guest posting is a really good option. You get the backlink. You can also get the content in the forum and other options. So based on that thing it's reasonable to make sure that it'd be really better or not for generating the content. I guess for each one of us it could be different. That's what I have learned.

I think some forum owners are using this method already, using traffic as a bait to get free writers.I think this really need a good editing unless one is the type that accepts anything because I noticed that such write-up are always of low quality and some are copied content like the case of Narialand. So yes it works but more work will be needed.

You may be talking about a popular blog that is the target of lesser known bloggers for their guest blogging. One popular blogger said that he need not write a blog anymore for contents if he would accept all the requests for guest blogging. He had a lot of submitted articles in his email that are waiting to be published. But as the blogger, you have to write your own content to maintain the quality and identity of your blog.
