Sellers: Don't rush your "Want To Buy" bids.

From what I've seen, a lot of SEOclerks sellers could use some polishing in the Want To Buy bidding department. It seems like most bids are.. well, lacking in substance, and therefore not taken seriously.

There's a lot of noise in the WTB section, and most bids don't seem to match up with the gig. It doesn't seem like most sellers even read the descriptions.

If you want to stand out to a potential new client in WTB, be specific.

When I post a WTB, I NEED to see that the seller understands the instructions completely. I disregard any and all bids that don't make it extremely clear that the seller knows what I want done.

Your bid is a great chance to explain to the client what exactly you can do. Don't be vague. In fact, go into detail about how well you understand the details of the gig. Take a few moments to put into your own words what you'll do, even if it seems a little bit redundant. Believe me, you'll stand out big time in the sea of vague, rushed bidders.

I worry that many buyers may feel discouraged to submit WTB if they take the time to check how many seem to bid. Many sellers just write something like 'order me', or 'I can do it', and it really seems unprofessional. Then there are others who clearly did not even bother to read the WTB description, and just state something that has practically nothing to do with it. In the bid one should write what he is able to do to satisfy the requester's needs. It should be considered as a short advert of one's skills. I really hope bidders take this more seriously!

Hi bobjoehax3 thanks for your nice question. I agree with you. And I already posted similar post how to bid properly few month back. here it is: How to bid properly on WTB. I pointed 7 parts on that tips. Yes every buyer posted job with some instruction and I saw on WTB area. many user or seller do not know how to make proper bid. They just use few simple word like I can do job, or hire me etc. But, for getting job among all bidder, you must to understand clearly what buyer want and replay him one to one according to buyer job instruction. If you cannot agree with buyer, tell him why you do not do that specific job and what you will do? Fair price also importance for WTB area. which most of the user do not know how to set fair price.

Ok so there are actually loads of little things I often need done and it would be really cool to have these things done for me. I have often thought about adding a WTB but I haven't simply because a huge amount of the responses from sellers don't appeal to me. I have had a look at the WTB section a good few times and then often land up just doing the work myself or leaving something I might like done undone.

If I saw much more professional bids and responses I am sure I would have made use of this section.

Maybe SC should develop more restrictions for sellers when posting a bid. Seems to me that lots of sellers just want to get "noticed" and don't really bother fixing and offering a good offer.

Mike has a very good tutorial, but as I said, I don't think it's enough, some new restrictions may be needed to simplify things for both buyer and seller.

This is the mistake some of the sellers always make. There is need to understand what a particular buyer really want before bidding for such job and that doesn't mean that getting sucj work will be easier with such. However, to show an understanding of the needs of a seller will go a long way to building that connection with the buyer on the note that you understood the description of the work in clear terms.

I believe this is one of the reasons why some sellers don't have jobs to do, they just drop generic statement of just "order me" and that's all.How does a buyer know if one got the real description of what he or she wants.I can totally relate because I see this a lot.I think sellers should take their time and penned down how the will tackle a given job that way the buyer would ascertain that the seller understands the nitty gritty of the job.
