    What do you think about a voice over service?

    Ok so I might just have an idea for my first service here! Inspired by Mike discussion about text to speech software...

    What do you think about offering a voice over service? I know a lot of people that are too nervous to speak in their Youtube videos for reasons ranging from being shy about their accents,not confident about their ability to speak English or they don't like the sound of their own voice... so I might have a nice little market that I can tap into.

    So can anyone help me with ideas on how to price such a service?

    On top of that can anyone advise me on what equipment I should have and what I should use to record with?

    I don't have any equipment or software at the moment so I would have to probably sort that out first.

    This is actually a great idea Lynne! Like every service on SEOclerks will have a play button where a potential buyer can hear the sale pitch.
    It would be something like fiverr has with the videos, only a bit more professional if you ask me.
    Not everybody has the charisma to record a video about their services and sound/look convincing enough to get orders. So yeah, would be a great new feature for SEOclerks, something I actually never seen at SC competitors.

    Thanks Cristian What do you think about a voice over service? yeah I think I'll give it a go and see how this goes. This is something I think I will be good at.

    I will have to make a Youtube video tomorrow for my service and add that in.

    I will also need to spend some time making writing my sales copy.

    Lynne, I think this would be amazing for you to do. Your accent is really neat as well, and there are not many people with this accent. Also, because you have an accent, and it appears to be "exotic" than this gives you an edge over many voice over actors. I'm unsure whether or not to call them actors or voiceoverers.. LOL

    You can probably use free software, or even the sound recorder that you prompted on the screenie. You already know a lot about all of this since you have a Youtube Channel, so your foot is basically in this door already, all you need to do is step in and offer the service. Now I'm not typically certain how much success you would have here, but you could always try!

    Thanks Everett. Well this would be a really good service to start with because it would be something relatively quick and easy to do. Something I could squeeze into my work load easily when I need to.

    Thanks for the compliment, I have had a lot of feedback on Youtube and on my blog about my accent. I am pleased to say most people like it... although one person on Youtube gave me a negative comment and said my accent was horribly annoying LOL

    I wish you luck Lynne! I am glad you came up with this idea as I recall you wanted to start offering a service here but was not quite sure which. I am sure you have a nice voice for voice overs and that you have some experience since you did YouTube videos already. I cannot give you much advice as I never did this, other than to set the price a bit low so as to stand out among others who are offering this service. I checked some in the marketplace and I must say I was quite shocked to see considerably high rates. I do not think that spending a few minutes reading something out loud in a professional way warrants such prices. I am sure you will be professional and reasonable about it. Best of luck!

    Yes EliteWriter I have been trying to come up with an idea for a service here but didn't have much luck coming up with something that felt right!

    Yeah I did some research yesterday on voice over services here and the prices do seem very high! I can most certainly come in much lower than any of those and still be making a nice amount of extra income if I make some sales.
