I don't spend money on online SEO or marketing courses as most of the information is freely available in printed form, ebooks, blogs and email newsletters. A lot of so called gurus are just rehashing the same info that I can get for free anywhere online. And, I don't think they can teach me anything I don't already know or didn't hear directly from Matt Cutts or some Google Big-Wig on their Youtube channel. As for online courses from say Udemy, I've actually tried a few. I was not very impressed with their free courses, but at least one that was about the Dutch language was VERY good and I would totally pay $17 for that course to learn conversational Dutch. I think their paid courses would be really good. Do they teach SEO courses? Not sure, but I know there are plenty of Wordpress related courses there, but nothing really I could not learn on Youtube for free. I would make an exception here to pay for an actual university course. That kind of accreditation would be very well worth it.

I think most of those are scams, especially the ones that promise secret formulas that will rank you on page one and get you loads of traffic, add in the autopilot BS and you know it is a downright scam for sure.

I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate University for a year though and I love it. They teach step by step for a newbie how to work online and the course is task based so it is very practical, plus they have amazing support and loads of extra training. I can't even do all the training there is so much available. I pay $45 a month to be a member there and I get free hosting for up to 50 websites. Not bad.

A great topic.

I have yet to come across one that is not a scam to be honest though. but it will be interesting to see how other people have got on about it.
I've never signed up to any that is paid though as just researching them a lot of them are scams so I have a lot of mistrust with them, as sadly a lot just take your money and provide you useless information that you would already know.

I took some programming courses a very long time ago and they were very helpful. Idea create a full course of training videos on many topics and make them for sale. I wonder if people would buy them? I see eBooks for sale but they don't seem to sell a lot. I wonder if paid videos that are private with a unique login would work? Hmmm?

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing actually Did anyone benefit anything from those courses online?

I would love to do a beginners course for newbies to online marketing. Like a step by step training that they can follow.

Personally I've bought products and courses for years.. And I would say that I've gained something from most of them, but if I knew what I would learn, then I wouldn't have bought half of them. Most of the courses and products I've bought during the last 5 years online has been re-hashed materials and even the "best gurus" out there are selling products they've sold for years.. What they do, is to add something extra. Something new. And then they'll release the same product multiple times.

Newcomers. People new to internet marketing. They believe in the products which is why these gurus makes millions and get amazing reviews for them.. Most of the newcomers aren't aware of the fact that most of the things they'll learn, can either be found for free online, from google for instance, or, can be found in most free guides or reports other "gurus" give away for free.

So yeah. I've bought hundreds of products and courses and yeah, I've gained something from all of them.. But most of them have been the same old "boring" things that I read 3 months ago in 4 other products.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

I would never trust any online course teaching the "secrets" on how to boost your ranking. Most online SEO courses are outdated and still use old techniques that will tarnish your rankings, and your website would've been better off without using such SEO course. Also, why pay for a course when there is so much information online from reputable sources on how to improve your SEO ranking? Same thing goes for all the courses online, and most are overpriced anyways.. why pay when you can find out how to do things on your own? I often believe that finding out how things work on your own is much better than be guided by an online course.

Hi sanfora thanks for interesting question. I read mass things online. You can say Google one of my best teachers for online professional. I used to read several blog and want to YouTube for letting know anything. I got huge effective method from there. I also purchase some eBook from online and I got some benefit from them too. So, for me it is very beneficial if you purchase any online course. But be caution who selling course like if you purchase my course, you will earn $1K each day or $30K each month etc. I have little experience about it few years before. I purchase a service on f i v e r r for $5 and they told me if I follow their technique I can make huge money from CPA. I tried to follow and I saw most of the technique was visionary.

So, it is very difficult to say which course or tutorial good or bad for learning.

Well, I always found certain courses very interesting and I was ready to buy them but just before I pushed the order button I always did a quick research, turns out you can get most courses for free if you look hard enough or at least you will find a similar course that basically tells you the same thing.

Anyways, so I'm not going to buy SEO courses any time soon, I rather write one and sell it myself, I've you can make good money off of them, especially video ones.

I had attended several online courses by HP about IT operations particularly project management. My job in the office is in handling new projects like rolling out of a new software or a new application for a particular department. The online courses I took was for 2 weeks each course and it is on my own pacing. That means I can finish it in a shorter time if I want or for a longer time. I’d say it is beneficial to me because I have learned some techniques particularly the project monitoring methods.
