QR Codes. Do people even use them?

QR CODE:

QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) first designed for the automotive industry in Japan. A barcode is a machine-readable optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached.

So, I personally don't use them and I've never used them. I also think they are ugly. I don't know but I think it seems weird when I see QR codes on advertising, flyers and stuff like that. - QR codes looks misplaced somehow.?

QR Codes. Do people even use them?

What about you?
Have you ever used these, will you ever use them or do you think it's time to bury them?

If you have used them, when did you do it and did it work out well for you?

I use QR codes all the time when i use Bitcoin. I think crypto currency is reinventing the initial purpose for QR codes. They work really well for me when i need to send or receive coins. Its alot easier than sending an entire wallet ID. All i have to do is scan the QR code and hit send i love them honestly. I totally agree that they are not pretty but they serve an important purpose in the crypto world for sure. I know you can use them for advertising as well you can link almost anything to a QR code. If you have an ad or a poster lets say in a mall, with the rite logo and catch phrase you can and will get people to scan this code all day. I certainly think that it was starting to fizzle until Bitcoin came along and took them to the next level. They went from being a novelty to so many people to being an everyday item. Would i recommend people to use them? I would say it depends on what kind of business you run and what your ultimate goal is for marketing. Awesome topic thank you for sharing.

As I'm not really into cryptocurrency I don't use QR codes the way you do. Honestly speaking, I don't use them at all but I can truly see a good thing using them along with Bitcoins. It sure sounds like a good option to send BTC using QR codes instead of using the entire wallet ID. Thanks for sharing.

QR Code is very important in these days, Just like me i use QR Code for my Visiting Card, so any one just scan and store contact info in their phone without mistype anything.

Also if you want you customer to open website in Browser, always display QR Codes so they can directly visit your site without retype anything.

in these days most of products had qr code for downloading drivers/software or getting help directly from website. its alternative way to mobile typing as far as I used it!

And most of people don't know not all mobile phones camera are great or acceptable, never print too small QR code or add too much information inside it, it will get messy and very difficult for mobile to read. Just like you have just shared.

If you every use Whatsapp for Desktop you see it will give you a QR Code to scan so you could contact with your PC..

Their is 100's of use of QR Code I can't write about every single usage.

Thanks,

Thank you for your reply. Perhaps I haven't used QR codes properly or for the "right things" so to speak. I haven't found these useful at all. Perhaps I'm just "old school" and missed out on something great but I've never found even one good usage for them myself.

I must be seriously behind the times. I have seen them all over but I have never used them before, not even once. Perhaps I should give it a go and see how it works for me?

I only recently got my first smartphone so that might account for me not making use of them.

I do agree they are ugly, but I can understand how they serve a good purpose. Now I want to try it out LOL. I guess I would need to download an app right?

Trust me once i print QR Code around 100+ and Paste around the CITY in different places, you won't believe me i got nearly 200+ user in a day almost whole week!, i never put a single word or detail above or bellow QR Codes, most people just got curious what is this, why someone place it here etc.

Most of my customers want to test mobile preview of my products, so i put QR Code any of my place in website where its look good and its help customer to go their without typing a single like of word.

Thanks,

If you are running a local business its help you boost orders, just place big QR Code anywhere near your business and Add small detail like "Business name" and "IF YOU SCAN YOU WILL GET 10% OFF COUPON CODE" etc..

EVEN ON Website too !

Just out of interest can you somehow monitor how many people have scanned your QR code?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

eziscript
No, you can't! You may track how many time QR Code display on Website but you can't track how many time its scan!

Thanks,

Oh well that is a pity, that would be really cool to be able to monitor how many times a QR code is viewed. Surely someone would be able to figure that out though? Like those clever coding people? (ie not me)

QR codes - yeah don't use them that much but I did tried them on occasion out of curiosity. Mike's QR code looks cool as hell though!

That's a good question, but there are still several products you buy that have them.
They are useful in some way, I think especially for smartphone users.

This type of code is mostly used by companies, supermarkets etc. People don't usually use this! At least i don't, although i can picture its utility!
