Does using CAPS help with SEO?

So we all know that putting keywords in headings helps with SEO, as does putting keywords in bold and underlining keywords.

We've recently had a discussion about online etiquette and one of the items listed as being an online no no was writing in CAPS.

I am just wondering whether writing in CAPS has any effect on SEO, would putting your keywords in CAPS help with SEO?

Or perhaps maybe because writing in CAPS is considered shouting, and therefore rude, it has a negative effect on SEO?

As far as i know, writing in CAPS is not affecting SEO in any way, good or bad, but i do know that it's considered as shouting / yelling at people when you write whole sentences in CAPS and it's considered as rude. Many years ago when we used IRC chats for talking it was the case and it was always known as yelling.
Well i have to say that not all people know about it's consideration and rudeness so it doesn't mean that they wanted to be rude. But using bold letters to grab someone's attention to some words or sentences is good enoguh if you really need to appoint something important.

Hey Abid, thanks for your feedback. Yes I don't mind the odd word here or there but very often it just goes overboard doesn't it?

I know, a lot of people don't seem to understand that it is rude.

I was just wondering whether there was any SEO effect, just one of those random thoughts I have in my day that a wanted to throw out there. I knew that I would get my answer here Does using CAPS help with SEO?

I do not think that it has any effect for seo purposes. I hate the use of caps, especially when it is somewhat prolonged, such as not just one word that needs to be emphasized. So i would say avoid using caps unless it is considered to be really necessary.

I don't even use caps to emphasise anything. I prefer to use bold. underline or even italics. I feel it has a much better effect. Personally I find caps just annoying and people really overdo it.

Thank you Lynne for a good question! - This inspired me to create another one actually Does using CAPS help with SEO?

I've said it several times before and I'll say it again. I HATE PEOPLE WHO'S USING CAPITAL LETTERS TO WRITE WHOLE SENTENCES!!!! AS MUCH AS I HATE PEOPLE USING ELEVEN EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - That looks odd, weird, horrible and I end up screaming when I'm reading it. It gives me the shivers.

It would be amazing if these things gave you negative results, but I truly doubt it. I doubt they are that smart to implement something like that, but I wish they did..

Eeek no Andre!!!!!!! Hahaha!

Yes I know what you mean, like exactly how many exclamation marks does one need in order to emphasize something? When I was in school I was taught that using an exclamation mark was emphasizing it.

There was not such thing as adding 50 exclamation marks to emphasize it "more".

If you advertise on some platforms like Google Adwords and on Facebook I think, then they don't allow all caps and they also don't allow more than one exclamation mark.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN LYNNE?!!??!! DON'T WE ALL WRITE LIKE THIS NOWADAYS??!?!?!?!! - Ugh!

It's seriously crazy. However, I do understand that some people are writing like this because they can actually read the text better that way. My suggestion? - Hold left ctrl and press the "+" button, if you're on Chrome. That way you'll zoom in. And obviously use the "-" button to restore the page. That way they'll be able to read the text without "yelling" at everyone. And that way, no one will ever be sick and tired of reading such content. That being said though.. Twenty five exclamation marks won't do you any good at all. - Just stop it. One or two is more than enough. Three, well okay. Ten, fifteen or more than that?? - Mental hospital.

I can't read the text easier when it is in caps, it just distracts me big time. Yeah good one, why not just zoom hahaha.
