9 ways to optimize your YouTube profile for Views, Click Throughs and Sales.

I'm sure all of us have heard of YouTube since they are the largest video sharing/hosting website in the world. Well I'm here to go over 10 simple tips and tricks in order to help increase your views, click throughs and sales


So here we go!

1. Your Video
No one wants to see a rehashed video of what someone else already posted. Be original and you'll get a better outcome and results. You can use material you already have like your logos, images, presentations, etc. because that's part of you and not a different company. A quick montage at the beginning of a video always pulls people in so test that out and see if it works well with your niche And always remember to have music with a good voice over so the video seems to be higher quality than others.

2. Length Of Your Video
Ideally you'll want to keep your videos between 2 and 5 minutes in length. This is due to people losing interest fairly quick because they don't want to keep watching. Some videos do well at 5+ minutes, but not many. Some people will even check the length of a video as it's beginning and if it's too long they will close the tab or search somewhere else for the content they want to watch.

3. High Resolution Videos
When you're uploading a video to YouTube you'll want to make sure it's high quality. Loading something that isn't high quality can make you look low quality. Do you want to see a newly uploaded video that looks like it was made in the 90's? Nope! You want cutting edge and fancy lol.

4. Get Your Watermark On There
Be sure to have your website on the video as a watermark so everyone sees it. This will also prevent some people from embedding your video and claiming it as their own if it's not a branded video.

5. Optimize Your Profile Name
When you're creating your account you need to have your business name as your username just so it's easier for you to brand later on. If JayBoy1987 is uploading videos for Good Financial Bank, it won't look professional lol.

6. Optimize For Search Results
YouTube works just like a search engine, probably because it's owned by Google... So you can optimize your videos descriptions and titles in order to rank higher in the search results. Get your keywords in where you can but don't keyword stuff, and you'll notice a decent boost in views. Now getting views will help increase your rankings within YouTube, but don't get bold and buy 1,000,000 views in 1 day because they won't look natural and your video could be removed.

7. Use Captions and Subtitles
Adding captions and subtitles to your videos will encourage click throughs. Be sure to have them set at specific times so that people are already thinking about clicking through to your website. A good example of this is if you're going over a pricing structure, you can add a link/caption there and get a few clicks.

8. Include a URL
If you get your URL at the beginning of the description it will show up even if someone doesn't expand your description section. This will increase your click through rate and sales.

9. Have Multiple Videos Within Your Channel
Having multiple videos within you channel allows you to target loads of keywords and share the traffic among all your videos. Think of it as your videos are your tier 1 links and your channel page is your money maker. Pulling traffic from YouTube to your videos is the first step, getting them to click through to your channel will increase your views, click throughs, sales, and pretty much everything else

Thanks for these tips Razzy. I make all my own videos for Youtube and I don't know how to edit or even add subtitles or anything on them. I try and make them as nice as possible but right now my skills are limited.

I have however managed to get 253 subscribers naturally in a year and I have also learned how to SEO my videos nicely, most of my videos are on the first page of Youtube for my keywords.

My goals for next year are to try and hire someone in the area that specializes in video that can come and film my videos and then make them all nice by editing them a little and maybe adding something exciting to them.... one thing at a time right?

I know you're a man with tons of knowledge Razzy.. But I wouldn't hire you to count things for me. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10.) - Just kidding with you.

All these things are indeed great and even though I personally believe that I know all of it already, it's awesome to get it listed like this, because it's always things that you miss out when you're actually about to do it.

When I've written CD's for instance. I press "submit" when I wrote my entire article but I forgot to write the actual title for it.

If I had a checklist like this for all the things I do online, then I'd never miss out on these little things either. Sure, it's usually not a big thing to miss, but in the long run, it's actually time I'd save by doing it the right way from the beginning.

Hahaha Andre, good one... I didn't even notice that there was no number 9 LOL. Ok so now we know Razzymay be brilliant as SEO but he can't count to 10 right?

I agree with you about checklists. When I start doing something new and I am unsure of the process then I love working from a checklist until the procedure becomes second nature to me.

Very good tips there. I personally cannot stand longish videos. I prefer the shorter ones, that are to the point, and I think that a good idea is to include subtitles for those who are not that conversant with the language and who may find difficulties in catching every word that is being said. Optimization, as always is very important. Also, I believe that it is silly to have a channel with only a handful of videos. It looks unprofessional.

3. Promote a website (preferably yours) in the description of the video
   

I think these are the three most important things and Youtube must take into consideration even before they start making videos.
It's all about creating a profit and maximizing that profit by any means possible. High quality videos will ensure subscribers and views, SEO optimization will ensure additional organic traffic and the link directed to your website will ensure additional conversion and profit.

Amazing tips Razzy! These are very crucial for new Youtubers to remember. They get so caught up in making the videos and other stuff, they usually miss out on what is important for them to get real views. There's also this new trend called clickbaiting. It is annoying at times because the thumnail and caption may say something and the content is completely irrelevant. A good Youtuber should be able to deliver quality content that would actually be as good or even better than the clickbait. Consistency, dedication and uniqueness is the key.

These werereally helpful! Thanks! I especially find interesting the part where you said
the length of the video it’s important because I do it too; I check the length first,
all the time. And if it’s too long I just won’t watch. The quality of the video
it’s another thing that captures my attention; I don’t want to see an awful
video. I won’t even lose my time with it and last I also think posting videos
regularly would increase the traffic otherwise people would forget your channel
and leave with someone more consistent in their posting.

Razzy at it again with these amazing tips on how to maximize our presence in the youtube world. Honestly speaking, as a viewer of most youtube channels, I always feel bad if I end up having to watch the same videos shots from two different channel out there on the youtube space. I always wonder the reason those guys can't-do something different apart from copying and making one wants their data for nothing. So, it is pretty cool that you came with these tips so that the culprits can learn from it as well.

You are right that the length of the video matters much because very short videos tend to get just a few views. I agree with that 2 to 5 minutes of duration that is comfortable for the viewer which is not short but not long either. But considering that we always say that content is king, it also applies to the video. A poorly made video cannot be expected to go viral although a high quality video is not a guarantee for getting a million views. Just like in any online game, the success of the video lies on a combination of factors.
