When I have headaches. I drink paracetamol. I also take some rest. Much good if I could sleep away the headaches. I also massage my head a little bit.

I get headaches on a regular basis, despite doctors visits and them checking everything for problems they still have not been able to work out why I get them as bad as I do. One doctor I saw said it could be a tension headache which could be possible as I do live quite a stressful life but sometimes I am not stressed at all and still get them and that makes no sense.

I find when I have a headache that drinking plenty of water helps to keep me hydrated. Even though I feel like I am drinking enough sometimes I probably am not and that is why I get headaches. Another way for me to get rid of my headache is to rest a lot, maybe lay down a little when I have some time to do so and just relax or even take a nap. Cold compress was another thing that was suggested to me by my doctor as well.

I try to avoid taking painkillers too often as you can get addicted to them after a while and if I know there are other ways I can relieve a headache I will try them.

If your someone like me who gets extreme headaches all the time, I know many ways to relieve the pain fast. Usually if I'm home and start to get a headache the first thing I run to is an ice pack. Applying an ice pack on your forehead or the back of your neck can reduce the inflammation that causes someone to have headaches. Also headaches and migraines can come from the person themselves by external compression. For example if something is too tight around your head like a headband, hat, goggles, glasses, or even a ponytail, these can cause serious headaches. To relieve this pain simply just remove the item that seems to be too tight around the head. You can also relieve them by taking simple medications and just relaxing, having a nice cup of hot tea to soothe things. Sometimes just a gentle massage and a little bit of added pressure can do the trick!

Taking medication seems to be the most effective way. Though don`t run to the pharmacy to get your painkiller pill. A headache is just a symptom which tells, that something in your system is wrong. It can be generated by stress, dehydration, insomnia, processed food, poor posture and quite often by a sedentary lifestyle. To get rid of a headache I would suggest to enrich Your diet by fruits and veggies, to include a regular workout in your routine and take plenty of pure water throughout the day. And the most important never get stressed out on small things. Problems are inevitable in our lives.

I suffer from headaches all the time,I usually just take Tylenol. Or sometimes if you take a cabbage leaf and put it on your head it will help as well.

actually there are two main causes of headache, Insomnia or not sleeping enough and dehydration.
this means if you have a constant headache try to sleep more hours and if you wake up and still have the headache then try to drink lots of water you might be dehydrated and if you still have the problem it might be another serious issue then check with the doctor.

Hi Money, that's not good, if you have already took some painkillers and the pain have not passed away that may be a problem. Have you drink a coffee in the morning?
I advise you not taking anything and make a visit to your doctor, you may have a problem with your blood tension and your doctor may prescribe you some pills.

Most painkillers won't kick in for about 1-2 hours , so take a dose as soon as you start feeling the headache coming on earlier treatment is always better to adress a headache. Even if you're already in the depths of misery, a quick dose of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen, aspirin or even a capasaicin nasal spray can take the edge off.

I'm not sure how or why, what I found that works for me is when I have one of those blinding headaches, I apply an ointment like Deepheat or any ointment used for sports muscle relaxation around my forehead from ear-line to ear-line, switch off all electric gadgets around me (yes, including my cellphone) and lie down in a dark room for about an hour to 2 hours. It works like magic Anyone know how to get rid headache?

Pain can be distracting and is always annoying. What i usually do if there is pain, I'll just ignore it. If the pain is too much, I'd sip a cup of lukewarm tea. I sip very slowly making the tea pass inbetween my upper teeth and lips . Its not making the pain away but its making it much tolerable.

Hi Moneybags82, do you suffer from migraines? If you do you should consult a doctor if not you should consider regulating your existing routine so that you can acknowledge your body's "natural time clock". That is when to sleep, when to eat, when to take a break. Perhaps you're not getting enough rest and skipping breakfast or eating late while staying up all night until daylight. If so you're definitely burning the candles at both ends! The body doesn't forget it's natural appointed time to do things like sleep and eat, even if we force it to as a result of our hectic schedule. We usually get tell tale signs which if we avoid them escalate as time goes by. This usually manifests into things like headaches and stomach issues and stress.

Plain headache or migraine can be punishing when it lingers. But I wouldn't suggest a pill or tablet. I'd rather follow the traditional home remedies. First is to check your hunger. Fasting can cause headaches. If not hungry then take a hot shower and apply vaporub ointment on your forehead. Of course, you need to relax for a while. Another remedy is your comfort food. I eat my favorite fruits, avocado, pineapple, green mango. And lastly, a good upper body massage. That would cure your headache... even if it's migraine.

Well headaches and migraines can be the result of a number of things, so it's important to track down the source in order to really treat it. However, there are a number of things one could try doing to remedy a seemingly random headache. Dehydration is a big cause of headaches, especially during the summer time. Drinking a big glass of water can make a headache go away, and making sure to drink at least 2.5-3L of water a day can prevent them. Often times when people feel the onset of a migraine, they also drink an ice cold glass of water quickly enough to give them a brain freeze. I don't know what the science is behind this but apparently it is an almost definite way of preventing a full-blown migraine.

I do Migranes, which are the worst headaches ever. Usually getting rid of a headache is not just a simple thing you do, but to do many things at the same time. For example, when I get a Migrane, I stop working on the laptop or pc, take a walk, if it gets worst, then you should take medication, any analgesic that works fast. Also, I go to my dark room, on silence, drink some water and try to rest for a bit. Generally, I can say, I feel much better when I tried all of it.

Taking lots of water is a great way to start off in the morning and you can only achieve that by doing it. Also, do not take less sleep on a 24 hours line and expect your head not to complain about it.

I have noticed that some of the time constipation and the lack of exercise and stomach issues cause the headache. If its not due to constipation the paracetamol often works out. And a lot of people consume it for the same reason. I have seen people also going for a walk and also meeting new places and fresh air helps get rid of the headache. but each one of us have different health. So the experience may surely vary.

To take away my headache, I would just drink paracetamol. I would rest after taking it. I also drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods. But most of all I would pray to God for healing of my headache. Nothing is impossible with God!

Pressure points are a good quick fix if you don't have medication. One above the nose, press down until it feels good, may require some trial and error to find. Or a warm shower helps me, even if it doesn’t do anything physically it at least relaxes me. Stress can be a big part of headaches
