Why is it that ALMOST everything with Google is FREE?

Nothing in life is totally FREE! So, when Google is offering everyone all these FREE products, I am wondering if there is a HIDDEN motive behind their kindness? What do you all think about Google's corporate motives for the future?

Well, I agree with Centurion because this is very true about why they do that, but it's also because they have so much money they are able to do this but yet still offer a paid version of the free product.

As centurion said, there's always a free and paid version (although I believe you could do well with free, as I do), and sometimes there will be ads. Like how youtube is free, but there's ads in each monetized video. Some are through having a big community, like the google android community, it's big so there'll always be a big target audience once they launch new products/services.

Google relies heavily on cross- subsidies. By offering free products they provide solutions that will keep viewers eyes on their web properities and the ads they display there. The advertising network they've created is what generates the revenue to offset the development and release of many of their products.
in many ways they also use free services to refline new offering and services. They used google 411 to refline their voice recognition technology and applied it to other services like google voice.

Google tests the ideas of the projects by offering it for free. If the people adopt it more than any other paid service. Then google continues to offer until they are supposed to make a profit. And most likely the profit starts when the people are going to be paying for it. And google finds out the intent of the people and then decide where to go for the pricing structure. That is how they did with the G Suite.

I have found that google does charges for the service. I have found out that google takes time to get into paid services. But it can be possible in due time.

One thing good with the internet is that there are so many free items. The anti virus on our home desktop is free and downloaded only but it’s working all right for years. The email that I have been using for more than 10 years is also free courtesy of Yahoo. With Google for searching, it is also free. What if you have to pay Google when you use it, for sure Google will lose 99% of its users who only use Google because it is free. And those free sites earn from the advertisements that they post on their sites. Pretty even? No, they earn more than what they share.
