life of a freelancer

There are days, When I have more on my plate than I can ask for, too many orders in a single day and I am all alone to complete with the top quality service is a challenge. To be honest, I am very very happy when I get plenty of orders in a single day, I feel it will be a productive day instead of daily Netflix and chills, but when I lack behind my schedule, I have this sense of feeling that I might not be able to finish the job within the given deadline. Working on my laptop or desktop in my apartment for hours, and even sometimes, I'll take my MacBook to the local coffee shop, which has wifi, just to be around other people because I find myself to be very productive when I am around people and the background noise help me to generate new ideas. Sometimes I get this feeling like why am I not meeting people, my life has become so boring just working and working, I should go outside hangout with friends and have some fun like other people do. And then there are the days, where I have absolutely no orders, I feel like a complete waste of time because I am nothing to do.

Life as a freelancer is a weird one, some people would rather have a lot of orders and space and alone time to be able to complete those orders and others would rather have very little orders and the space and alone time to complete the order, in some cases though people are the opposite and they want to be surrounded by people and have a lot of orders because it helps them concentrate.

I myself don't mind getting a lot of orders but I prefer to be in a quiet room with a little music on low so I can concentrate better when it comes down to finishing my orders, there are times I will get so many orders in I will worry about reaching the deadline but with the right kind of atmosphere I tend to hit that deadline sooner than I think.

Being there and done that. Life of a freelancer is hard. The monotony got me the most. I eventually had enough orders and clients to keep me busy 24/7 but I simply got bored and not interested anymore.
I simply made the exact amount of money I need to get by and nothing more. I realized that this isn't the best patch for me and got a real job. I'm now freelancing plus having a real job and I'm earning more than I ever used to earn.

What I'm trying to say here is that life of freelancers is not for everybody and if you are young it may be actually hard. As you get older you learn to set priorities and learn to increase your self-discipline.

Just like a seasonal days life of a freelancer sometimes goes up and down too. As a freelancer, myself, sometimes more clients wants my service and offered me a contract. There is also a time wherein clients want you to visit their origin of the country because of the satisfaction you gave with them. On the other hand, there is a time also that no clients at all I don't know why. Even I submitted a huge amount of proposal to different clients no one would respond. One thing is for sure, freelancing is not an easy job. Even though we're just sitting in front of the computer still it can't deny the fact that it's not sustainable.

I like my life as a freelancer. What I like the most is that I have no boss , I can work at my own pace and there is no need for me to travel. I prefer those days when I have more tasks to complete as more tasks means higher earnings. I don't like those days when I have less work to do. This makes me feel bored and unproductive.

As a freelancer, I get to work closer to my loved ones and that alone makes freelancing awesome. I usually need peace and quiet when doing in-depth research and writing about an unfamiliar subject but I would be fine with the typical household noise when working on familiar topics or on other earning sites.

My neighbors used to see me rushing on my way to the office each morning. Now, it's funny because they actually think that I'm jobless and were wondering how I can afford such a lifestyle. It's quite difficult to explain specially to the older generations that online freelancing is just as profitable, productive, and dignified as a brick and mortar office job.

I have been a freelancer for 3 years now and my friends are surprised when they learn that I have been working on Christmas day and also on new year's day. It used to be that holidays were reserved for resting or bonding with family but now there is work to do and I would regret to waste the opportunity of working and earning each day. For a freelancer, it is work every day regardless of the occasion.

I think this is a life of any human, not just freelancers, any day we don't do any concrete thing it feels like a total waste and I knew about this loneliness and boredom that is just I had to signup to many sites to work with but at that the same time try to balance it.I work and add my favorite hobby to it.Life shouldn't be one-sided, we should be able to work and also socialize it makes like meaningful and not just a bored as a freelancer.

Sometimes I have a huge number of assignments and I have to work 12-13 hours, and sometimes I do not have any works and I remain jobless for a week. This is one of the major problems I am encountering as a freelancer. The other problem is working at odd hours. I am based in Asia and my clients are from the US. There is 12 hours time difference. In order to keep with clients, I have to wake up in the middle of the night.
