We all know that you need to be building backlinks aimed at your website in order to increase your rankings over time so that you get some traffic from Google, Yahoo! and Bing.  But what if you don't have the funds to outsource the work to a credible agency or freelancer?  Are you to do everything yourself and risk a penalty or do you just put off the work entirely?  Well I would say that you should get out there and do the work yourself because they best time to start with SEO on your website was when you had the idea of launching it, but the second best time to start is right now lol

Most people putting up a website for the first time will be weary when it comes to backlinking because they just don't know where to start or what to do.  It can be pretty intimidating to think that you have to post 100's of links on other websites only to have then be deleted in a week or two.  You won't get a 100% stick rate with your links and don't believe any SEO company that tells you they can lol.  Not getting all of your links to stick feels like you're just wasting time on your backlinking campaign, but you can't look at it like that.  You need to think of it as throwing a net out and seeing which fish you can catch, the fish being the links that stick   Sure, you might get 50% of your links deleted, but don't let that defeat you because it's perfectly normal.  You have bigger things to worry about rather than what links will stick around because the webmaster like or dislikes what you're posting lol.


Avoiding A Penalty
It's not too common to get a penalty when building backlinks if you're doing it manually.  This is because you can audit all of the websites you'll be posting to and figure out which ones are good and which ones you should stay away from.  Usually when building backlinks like this you will gravitate towards the bigger websites that you're normally on like forums and blogs, which are great places to start off if you're doing everything by yourself.

You don't want to do anything misleading like blending your text into the background of spamming your keywords because this will likely send a penalty your way.  Just post how you would normally type if you were responding to someone or asking a question yourself.  Don't be misleading and you will notice your links sticking around on high authority websites


Why do links get deleted?
Well that's simple, it's because the webmaster didn't like you post so he or she decided they were going to delete it.  There's not rhyme or reason to why they delete your posts if they are genuine and you're just trying to help someone out, but it's likely because the webmaster or admin thinks that your post is spammy and trying to advertise.  Now most of your posts with backlinks in them will likely be advertising, but you have to make them look like you're just trying to help out and referencing a website (your site) as something that had good information on it or something that could help out the person you're responding to. 

If you're just posting "Check out my website!  (LINK HERE)" then I can guarantee that 99.9% of your posts will get deleted lmao


Will I get penalized for my links being deleted?
Nope, not at all.  You will never get a penalty when a webmaster deletes your link.  You may however notice that if you're consistently getting links deleted, your SERP (search engine results pages) ranking will begin to drop.  This is due to Google noticing your website having less and less links over time and not being seen as popular as they thought, so they drop your ranking.  For this reason, SEO and Backlinking is a never ending process and that's why a lot of people outsource the work to credible agencies, like my own , and freelancers who know what they are doing


How long does manual link building take?
When it comes to link building, you could be working for 1 hour a day or 16 hours.  It's really up to you how long you want to do the link building each day, but the more you work, the higher your rankings will tend to be   This is why you hear stories of SEO's working for 16 to 20 hours a day building high quality backlinks.  They're in a very difficult niche and they want to invest a ton of time working on their backlink profile, so they bust their ass doing so to hopefully see a huge spike in traffic and sales later on


What if I don't want to do it manually?
Well that's not a problem, like I said before, there are an enormous amount of website owners that outsource this type of work because it does take a good amount of knowledge in order to perform it well.  You can search through all of the services here on SEOclerks.com and find some high DA backlink sellers that can help you out with the process.  Find some sellers that offer niche related high DA links and not just random ones, these sellers will be able to help you out more than getting random links aimed at your pages. 

You will notice that high DA links usually cost a bit more, but they're worth it in the long run.  I myself have paid $250+ for 50 high DA links in the past and I'm glad I did.  The work was super high quality and I had a huge spike in the rankings because of it   So don't be worried if you're going to spend $1.00 or $2.00 a link because that's actually a really good price for a high DA link.




In Conclusion:
You can always do your own backlinking, just be safe and smart about it.  You don't want to build 1,000 links on the same website because you won't get the same benefit as if you posted 100 links on 100 different websites.  Build up your forum profiles and add a signature, it won't help a super lot, but it will help give you your initial push lol.  Don't worry about links getting deleted, it happens   In the end if it's too much work, you can always outsource it to a credible freelancer here on SEOclerks
