What are the most popular blog topics to write about?

My friend has a blog where she has written about her life and her travelling experiences. She has not really been able to attract that much readers. She has been trying to advertise her blog by using social media websites but this has not really helped her. She is feeling a bit discouraged too as she took a lot of time to write those various articles for her blog. She once told me that she thinks that her blog is not faring well because of the topics. I am just wondering about the kind of topics that can attract more readers.

Hi, Pixie is hard to get visitors to our blog or website and is true that sometimes is needed to change the course of our business. One of the best topics to write about is "earning online," politics, recipes or contests.
But the name of your blog will not guarantee the success; you must work hard and spend a lot of time to advertise your blog to raise the traffic on it!

I don’t think it is easy to change the niche of your site especially if it is a blog because it will be messed up. But if you have surrendered with the viability of your blog that you think you cannot get readers anymore then my suggestion is to abandon that blog and create another one with the new niche that you think would be better. Don’t forget to promote your blog so it can gain more readers.

There are a lot of interesting niches to create a blog on the internet.

I particularly think that if you're just going to tell about your life and your experiences on a blog, then people will not be interested in it.

Do a simple Google search and see what people are interested in.

Comedy websites, websites that teach something, websites that culinary, movie sites and celebrity gossip.

I myself have a cooking website, another one where I teach excel tips and another one with tips for people learning English.

Life is so boring that people want things that would male them.glue to a page for a long time.

I think people want more post on celebrities, gossips,fashion and controversial news.So if you need tons of readers then try to station your niche on these niches and milk it.

Though it seem.saturated,continue in it because people never get tired of those niches.

Well, it honestly depends on the current trends. What people are currently interested in... something that's a really hot topic right now might not be in half a year or a year's time. So it's important to constantly do your research on what's the best to write about - you want to stay as current as possible.

And currently, the hottest blog topics are:

Nobody is interested on what goes on in your life, if she must run a travelling blog then she must focus on providing value to her readers. People want to find cheap but cool places to spend their vacation, find cheap hotels, find something that will be of value to their travelling experience. Let her carry out proper keyword research based of the travel niche and focus on creating contents based on longtail keywords with less competition for her blog. Trust me she could have a gold mine on her hand.

Honestly, it depends on who are the readers she wanted. If she wanted more female readers, think about what females are interested in. I love recipes, parenting skills, fashion, how to for home problems, appliances and household chores. Write these articles to garner traffic. Personal life- I am not keen to know and travelling- I have airplane phobia. So sorry, I am not her reader.

I believe it would really help a blog if the posts include something about current events and news. If the blog is about travelling, then it would also help that she includes some changes in the country along with the description of culture. It would also actually help that she view other travelling blogs. She could then connect and interact with the owner of the blog and its viewers. If she could gather the attention of those who love travel blogs, they might even be regular viewers and readers of her blog.

It's hard to drive visitors to your blog because of thousands of the same niches on the internet. I am not an expert on this topic but I would like to share some tips based on what I've observed in the internet nowadays. Mostly, people want to read about how to make money online because all of us wants to earn money right? There are also niches which talks about fitness because lots of people wants to get fit, including food blog because some might want to cook a healthy dishes but they don't know how.

Moreover, people also would like to know what are the trending topics on the internet, such as popular videos, photos, anything that is unique. I guess all of these things are a good topics to choose from but it all still depends on how you market your blog and doing the right optimization.

Blogs used to be in great demand once upon a time. Now with millions or billions found on the net I doubt anyone reads our blogs. The only way we can do that is to share them by registering on countless networking sites such as twitter, facebook - the list is endless. There is a sharing app available with Chrome which one can download and each time the blog is updated it could be shared with these sites.

There are a few responses to this post, saying that your friend's life and travelling experiences are not interesting at all. Of course, I understand that they are making the statement from the point of view of an online marketer. May I take an alternate view, this one from a more general perspective, and state that anyone's life and experiences are always interesting. Everyone has a story to tell, and there is always someone ready and willing to listen. Her experiences are her own, and no one can say that she is wrong.

She shouldn't worry about having an audience; if she has friends and family, she already has an audience. I'm sure they are more than willing to listen to her story.

From the perspective of online marketing, I believe the statement still holds true. She has a product - her life and travelling experiences; she has a market -- her friends and family, however small it may be. But it wouldn't hurt if she learned how to tell her story in a more engaging way, so as to captivate her audience. Maybe put a little more personality to it. She should also be willing to go out and widen her circle of friends.

To sum it up, I think her life and her travelling experiences would make great material for her blog.

Based on what I see, the most popular topics for a blog are - games, health, pets - not necessarily in that order. I included pets because "we" have a blog on that which I co-write sometimes. But I have plans of putting up my own blog with stories about my dogs. I have one friend who blogs about health and she gets a good number of regular readers. It deals mostly about herbal and home remedies which are traditional but mostly not in the internet yet. The games are geared for the younger generation and although I am not a gamer, I have nephews and nieces who are. They are interested to read such a blog especially those with tips on gaming.

For example: You choose very popular topic for your blog but you can not attract people due to lack of smart written. And if I say technical term, you may unable to use SEO term to attract people to your blog. So, popularity depend on other things. If you say what topic need to choose according to current demand on internet? I should say go for SEO related blog to start. And another popular topic earn money from online or Internet. This two topic most valuable and currently million of people searching everyday. And i saw many of this topic base site very popular on internet. I think you should say to your friend try to make blog such related topic. People are not interested to know anything personal story what you are doing and where you are going. You can write it from personal interest. But, if you feel to make money site, you must to go for some attractive topic.

Certainly, it is a good idea to blog about trending topics, some may say gaming, politics, technology, traveling, food, kids care, pets.
But the most important issue, is to blog about something you really have knowledge about, or you can dominate.
How am I supposed to have a kitchen-food blog, when i burn myself putting ice on the fridge right?
The other thing to care is to blog about something you are passionate about, something you can spend hours talking about it, it can be reading, dancing, singing, poetry, writing, painting. No boundaries for blogging, you can blog about literally anything, the big issue is to do it about something you really care.

Health and wellness - this huge much has a lot of sub niches that you can write about, especially the weight loss niche and gain weight niche.
Make money online - a lot of people are searching for ways on how to make money online which made it a favorite topic to blog about.
Sports - the NBA season is just around the corner. You might want to try and test the waters in this popular niche.
Dating - there are many people out there who are still single. There are also those who are currently having relationship problems. This makes this topic a very popular one to blog about.

My friend is now mostly writing and health and fashion on her blog and as per the last conversation that we had she told me that this particular niche seems to be working for her. People will read your blog if it addresses their concerns. People mostly reading a blog or an article because they are looking for a solution to their current problems. If you will just create a content about yourself, there is a possibility that people will not attract to read your blog post. So creating a blog is not necessarily about yourself. I think that before starting a blog one must research about the most popular topics as there is a higher probability that writing about such topics will attract more traffic.
