Creating web site with PHP

I have a knowledge in creating website using HTML, CSS, Javascript/Query, and PHP but I never been in a really big web development project even since. I once ask to create a website for online courseware for just a school project where the teachers could post their lessons, quizzes, and examinations. I developed it using codeigniter, a php framework. There are other php framework available such as CakePHP, Yii, Lavarel, Symfony, Phalcon, Zend, but I found codeigniter easy to learn so I chose it for developing website that is based on php.

Has anyone here create a website on php?
Did you use any php framework?
If you're going to recommend a php framework for php to beginners, what would it be?

The only PHP website I have is one I purchased a script for called Pes Pro Social Exchange script. I bought this beginning of this year and all I had to do was extract it on my server and install. But, I do try adding things to it using PHP like editing some of the files to add my own style on the main site. Like, images to a video on the front page.

If you're going to recommend a php framework for php to beginners, what would it be?

I would suggest Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter or Zend Framework

It is really great to have knowledge in different php frameworks so you'll have the opportunities of accepting projects that requires particular framework. Each frame has advantages and disadvantages.

Some people found it easier one framework than the other. And there are others who did not continue learning a particular php framework at all because they found it difficult and they've been frustrated.

if your're going to pick one among Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter and Zend, what framework would you suggest to start with as a beginner?

You should stick with Laravel, it is the best frame work for beginners, I have used many frameworks, and none impressed me like Laravel did. So I strongly suggest you stick with it. It will teach you many things that will help you sail through other frameworks.

dreamweaver is good tho i be-leave

but its simple use a pad

learn mmsql rather than mysql
learn tables
learn div
study tags

its a peice of piss when you brake the code down

i suggest your first project would be to build a simple login
then build a complex log in
then add remember me feature to login
then add ouath to login
connect to social media

I have created websites with PHP. For this I am using the Bitnami stack for LAMP. You can install it on Windows. And it can give you some good options to run Apache server. You can create files that end with .php extension. And for this you just have to write the code and then run it through web server. I guess in such context you can easily make websites and connect them with mysql database too. You can watch some of the Php tutorial on youtube. It's very easy to make use of the php once you get the hang of it. But it takes time for the PHP based skills to pay off.

I'm using XAMPP when developing php based website in my local computer. For me although there are other scripting language that is becoming popular, php will stay longer because large percentage of websites are build in php and also the different Content Management System (CMS).

you want to set up you self a window server and mmsql learn php 7 mmsql the rest is history
dont waist your time with mysql , esp for a live website , stay clear of xampp for live sites to

I haven't studied yet mmsql. Is it available on web host? Thanks for your suggestion on starting project with php. I'm practicing a simple e-learning website where teachers can upload their lessons and exams. I will apply your suggestion on login, remember me feature, ouath, and connecting to social media. There are available CMS for such kind of website but I want to try to create my own.

I spent a few days trying to learn PHP but it just wasn't for me. I didn't like it that much to be honest with you because of some complicated it makes some things. I decided to go with Python and Flask to create my current website project and it has been amazing so far. Everything is so much easier especially when you compare it to PHP.

I have the same feeling also toward learning other web programming aside from PHP. Lots of people that Python is great and easy to learn. I"ve tried it and learned the basics but I still stick on PHP. But of course it is a big advantage if you know different web programming technologies because you could have more opportunities.

Definitely. The more you know the better opportunities you will have especially with things like programming languages. It is one of the industries that is growing rapidly so it definitely won't hurt you if you know a few different web programming languages because of how many different opportunities it can bring you.

all code is basically the same

php looks complex as it in lots of sections
i think php is the lang to learn but with mmsql

Honest, I really haven't created any website using php or html yet, it's not that I don't want to but I'm still on the learning process of doing it and once I'm done and perfected the skills and knowledge, technicalities it requires to do so, then I would most likely create a website that would definitely offer a great service without crashing down so easily if it hits up much traffic.

Start with the basics. Practice daily and consistently. There are lots of tutorials available in the internet about creating a well designed websites.

Yeah, I have created some sites with PHP, although none of them went live, that was when I was ruining my training with PHP, before I moved to ruby and I didn't regret it though. Meanwhile since you want to code with PHP, I will recommend you use Laravel framework, it is really the best framework I have used and it's really cool and ~~user~~ beginner friendly.

I don't know php, however, I have a lot of interest in learning php. I also take interest in website design and web development. I have a handful of wordpress websites. Since I do not have any knowledge of coding, my websites are very basics. I want to learn programing languages so that I can develop better websites. This will help me make my websites better as well as earn money as a developer.

Wordpress is built on php. You could customize your wordpress theme if you know html, css, javascript, and php. Learning web programming could also give you another source of income.

Most of the websites i create are coded in PHP. However, I personally do not like using frameworks as I think for newbies they may seem a bit hard to learn. The scripts I create are coded in such a way that the buyer can easily tweak with the code to change certain aspects of it's functionality. I find that this is easier especially if they hire someone to make adjustments, it's much more easier for the freelancer/coder to read the code, and apply the changes the buyer needs.

However, CodeIgnitor would seem to be the framework i would use as i am most familiar with it, and of course CakePHP because of it's simplicity.

Yes it is important for a newbie to learn pure PHP to have a solid foundation and understanding of what php can do. Frameworks makes the development faster but of course it has limitations that's why a good foundation of php is necessary.

I haven't done this. I would likely rely on a site to help me get the website development I need. I don't really have time to learn a programming language or coding at this point. I want to be able to get someone else to do the hard work for me!

It's okay to leverage task to other people especially if you are doing other important things. Having your own website doesn't necessarily that you create it by yourself. You can accomplish many things if you ask the right people to do it for you rather than just exerting all your time and energy in one task. But of course having knowledge on web programming will prevent you from spending money to make the customization on your website.

I have a site on PHP, a script I purchase not too long ago. Its a user base sight allowing users to open accounts and go about their contributios.

I think PHP is more complex than HTML and other languages. During the course of setting up my site, I had to do a lot of adjustments to the already built scripts. In saying so, I advice every newbie going into programming language to avoid PHP for now and start with HTML. Its easier to grasp for beginners.

PHP is the scripting language that will make the website dynamic. There are many content management systems that are written in PHP. But PHP is only one among the list of choices that can be used to integrate with HTML and databases.
