Every online company runs in a similar way, here's why

When it comes to running an online business, they are all similar no matter the niche or target market.  Some of you probably think I'm insane for saying this, but just think about it.  How many times have you started up a website and done all of the same things in order to get traffic and obtain leads?  Most of the work you do for every website out there will be very similar.  The only difference is the keywords, niche and how you write up your content.

When newbies set up a new website targeting a different niche that they aren't familiar with, they always ask a ton of questions.  The "What do I do now?" question always pops up when they are getting a footing with their new website, but they already know what should be done because they've done it before lol.

In this discussion I'll be breaking down what you need to be doing with your website, which will work with every single website you decide to set up and run for success Every online company runs in a similar way, here  I've done work for many different business, and they all do the same processes and methods, so I decided to break it down for you.  Below are the 6 main points that every online company runs in a similar way:

They all brand themselves
Every online business will design their logos and write their content in specific ways in order to brand themselves.  They want to be seen in a specific way to their visitors so that they can stand out from the crowd.  Every business does this because it's one of the main ways to bring in dedicated customers and keep them coming back because they remember you easily.

When you're seen around online as an authority, you know that the branding you've been working on has done it's work.  How many times have you seen a company try to brand itself online using content and images?  Probably every single one, because we all do it lol Every online company runs in a similar way, here

They all need clients in order to be successful (excluding non profits)
All online businesses will need a client here and there in order to keep their doors open.  Not having clients means you don't make any money, which will kill any business and not just yours.  Every business out there, besides non profits (sometimes), needs plenty of clients in order to make money.  There is not business model out there that says something along the lines of "We're going to give away everything for free, forever!" because they would be dead before they were ever known by the masses.

They all should be doing email marketing
If a company is to be successful, they will need to be doing email marketing.  All of the successful companies out there are doing email marketing because it works, and it's no surprise that everyone talks about how to do it properly Every online company runs in a similar way, here

It doesn't matter if you sell baskets or you sell hang gliders to billionaire playboys, you will likely have a similar online business model to the next guy.

Doing proper email marketing is what every business strives for, and that is why you can perfect one system and implment it to every single website you work with.  Just be sure to switch out the emails, branding, target demographic, etc.

They all should be blogging
A successful business is one that is blogging.  Of course you'll find some successful businesses that aren't blogging, but they could make even more money by obtaining visitors from the search engines through blogging and search engine optimization.  If a company isn't blogging, they're just leaving money on the table, but not many are doing this.

If you know how to write well, you can blog well.  It doesn't matter what the niche is or how fancy the website is, if you know how to do research then you can write anything you need to in order to convert someone into a paying customer.

They all should be doing SEO on their Websites and Blogs
Most websites nowadays are learning about SEO and they are starting to implement techniques in order to increase their rankings.  If you know what you're doing when it comes to SEO, then everything will be easy no matter the niche.  You can just change out the variables such as keywords, niche, content, types of backlinks and niche related backlinks.

You obviously wouldn't want to talk about a car restoration service and embed basket weaving related links aimed at your basket weaving website, right?   If you know what you're doing, you can change out the variables in your SEO campaign, do a little bit of research and then rank any website over an undetermined amount of time.

They all should have responsive designs
With one of Googles recent updates, every design that is responsive (mobile friendly) is prioritized within the search results of Google.  This means that if your website looks better on mobile devices, it will likely be ranked higher within the SERPs because Google wants it's mobile device users to have a better time browsing through the search results.

Any website can be made responsive, it doesn't matter the niche or keywords it's targeting, it's just how the design is coded.  All websites should be going responsive because of this update, so that means any online business is likely doing this because it's a necessity right now.

In Conclusion:
All online businesses are pretty much ran the same way when it comes to getting setup to getting clients through marketing and search engine optimization.  You can help any website if you have the knowledge and skills, regardless if you have knowledge of the niche, because you can just switch out the variables to make the work specific to the client Every online company runs in a similar way, here

Razzy,

Another great post. i really like how you break this all down into the basic components of an online business and/or community structure. I also appreciate how you stress the importance of blogging as it relates to the overall success of an online excursion into business. Blogging attracts more activity and commerce to one's site, and I think that is keeps customers and visitors interested because they also like to receive comments to their own comments and insights.

There are several discussions that point to blogging as the element behind the success of an e-commerce site. Reading those explanations gave me the insight that when I create my own blog it should have an e-commerce site. But I know that it is the other way around that the e-commerce will be the main site and the sub domain is the blog. I hope that runs well in the guides that were explained in this discussion.

Some of the very good points. I write a lot of articles on business development. And these are the points that I am always going to be mentioning as well. So far not much doing these things. I guess this applies to the freelancers too. Because here the issue is branding. And with the branding things can be done lot better way as well. I have seen people doing similar things but lot of them don't execute things properly. That's what I have learned.

I will assume why all business run the same is because we tend to want to do what others do to succeed.Thinking outside the box might be a bit new to the clients or customers

Let everyone want to use email marketing because there's what is in vogue or using blogging to capture our customers because that is what everyone is doing. So everyone is doing the same thing to get the same result.

I think the process for cashflow is pretty much the same. Like you offer service or product. And from there you can add up on the quality of the website and the service. So this is something we have to consider as well. These things take time for management but we have to eventually work on them. You can see that it'd be harder to see all business having same process. And that's the difference between the success and failure between them.

It's because the whole process for running an online company is almost the same, unlike offline businesses which have their different styles or patterns. Starting from building a website for the online company to getting it set up to be fully functional and visible to the world, processes go the same way. Even for the marketing aspect to bring in sales, we perform almost the same actions such as advertising using online media, posting to email contacts as well as making forum posts at regular intervals.

It doesn't matter what you sell, like you said most of the time every online company will run in a similar way. It's almost like a template which you have to follow. For me, a responsive design is one of the most important things especially if you are in the e-commerce industry. You cannot expect to sell things if you do not have a good enough mobile experience especially because of how many users now buy things from their smartphone.

It seems like online companies have more in common, and run much the same as opposed to offline businesses which might be varied. It is just the sort of thing that people need to look at when they are running this kind of business. They need to understand the entire process from conception to fruition.

All online companies go the same paths of building their house of business through SEO and marketing strategies. I guess I need to eat more educational thoughts so I could build my own and not fail in the end. I learned few tips here already and I'm happy.

Yeah, they really under this processes you listed here, but I would like to emphasize on the branding aspect, not only companies, brand themselves, even individuals do that also, and I would suggest everyone to do that. It is all about branding.
And you also forget the buying traffic routine, a handful of companies I know, buy traffics

Just like an ordinary company, any business needs clients to make it going. No clients, no business. That’s reason enough why marketing is very critical for the company since marketing is the way to bring in clients. If the marketing is good then more clients will be coming in and business will have the trend to flourish. Businessmen say that running an online business is practically the same as an offline company.
