I have always found breadcrumbs to be helpful on a site. I personally feel that every site needs them so you are not lost. Do you agree with this or not?
I agree. Breadcrumbs help me navigate the site better and I don't like visiting a site without them.

Depends on the site design, really.
Yes extremely helpful i use them alot to navigate through most sites not just this one
It depends upon the design of the website and how you are going to use as per the content. I personally was using that but now am not using it any more still I thing its really very good.
I really like them on an apple and rhubarb crumble! But seriously though, they are very helpful to people to let them know where abouts they are on your site. But sometimes, they're not needed. It kinda depends on the look and layout of your site and whether your site has a lot of inner pages that people can drill down into and get lost in. In cases like that, bread crumbs are very helpful to help them navigate your site, find their way back to where they started from or quickly jump to other pages or locations of your site with relative ease. So not every site needs them, some definitely do. You will have to experiment with them on your site. It could be that you could increase your sites usability and page loads from having them. But the reverse can happen as well. So it's all about experimenting and seeing what works best for you.
I am somewhat shocked by this discussion because this is the first time that I have encountered bread crumbs. Maybe it is too techie for me hence my mind seemed to have shut down. So I made a short tour to Google to give me an understanding. I see that bread crumbs is a part of design to reveal your location so that your website can be easily tracked. I guess bread crumbs is good for SEO purposes.
