Blogging for profits takes a lot of patience and research to be profitable
No one made money right away from blogging, they made it over time through countless posts about something they loved or something they just wanted to profit from, and they kept doing this work because they knew it would take time to start bringing in some sales or sponsorships. Too many bloggers today get online and think "I'm going to make $1,000 a day through blogging!" but they quickly get discouraged because it isn't that simple.
I've had $1,000+ days, but it was never from blogging directly, and you can do it too if you just focus. You can't think that blogging alone will make you a bunch of money, you need to mix in a lot of other things like online marketing and SEO as well as partnering and sponsorships to bring in the real money. People won't just find your content because you wrote it and now it's visible on your website. You need to optimize and promote it for people to see, then they will start to gravitate towards your business or blog, and they will likely stick around for more posts you've already written.
Blogging isn't the easiest thing to do, even though you can get a WordPress website up and running within a day, and people need to understand it's a lot of work before they actually get started. Treat it like a job, not a hobby, and you will likely get more passionate about it and profit more in a short amount of time compared to anyone else out there.
Find the right niche for you and your profits
I always tell beginning bloggers to write about something they already know a lot about and have a passion for. This is because they don't have to do a bunch of research on the topics, they already know what people want to read, and that means you'll save time and produce more content.
Now, if you're already an experienced blogger and know what to do, you can jump into a different niche you're not familiar with but you know it's more profitable, and start churning out content. You just need to remember that the more difficult the niche is, the longer it will take to profit, but you'll likely make more down the road after you get enough traffic coming in
Set a requirement of 1 blog post/article per day
If you don't have goals, you won't be successful online, and setting a 1 article a day requirement will help you hit a goal of at least 20 articles and blog posts per month. I'm not saying that you have to log onto your computer every single day and type up an article, I'm saying you need to write an average of 1 article per day in order to stay on track. Sit down one day and write up 10 articles or blog posts and do it again in 5 days. In just 2 days you've already hit your goals, and you will have a ton of content ready for everyone to read.
I write for SEOclerks and I try to average 3 discussions per day. I don't get online every single day to write my content, but I submit a bunch of content that is later scheduled, and that's why you might see a discussion of mine go live and I'm not even online Right now I'm writing between 5 and 7 discussions each day, which puts me over the 3 a day goal that I set for myself, and that means I can take a day or two off and not feel like I wasted anything. If you can stick to your small goals, you will hit bigger ones with ease, and my bigger ones are the number of posts that I publish I've already hit 1,000 and now I'm shooting for 1,500 then 2,000
Optimize everything you possibly can
If you're not optimizing your content, you're just wasting time on each blog post you publish, and this is because you won't get any love from the search engines. Google, Yahoo!, and Bing want to see optimized content in order to know where you should be placed within the SERPs. They can get an idea of what you're writing about, but it's up to you to give them certain signals so they don't have to search, and that's essentially what SEO is
Optimize your content and do it right the first time so you don't have to go through your content a second time and waste a week or two just editing everything in order to show the search engines what you've written. Spend a few minutes now to save a few hours later and you will be happy you did
Have a great design or theme that has you stand out
When someone lands on your blog or website they want to see you're cutting edge and visually appealing. A lot of bloggers start out with free blogs, which actually hold you back, so go set up a WordPress blog and upload a premium theme from ThemeForest so you can be seen as more of a professional.
If you're posting to your blog every day, using high quality and vibrant images, you will notice your pageviews increasing with each person that lands on one of your posts
Be sure to have an opt-in form
One of the biggest things with blogging is you need to have an opt-in form so you can collect emails and get people coming back after a week or two to read more content you've posted. You can set up a $10 a month MailChimp account and automate hundreds of emails going out so you don't really have to focus on anything with your newsletters. After the 6th or 7th email someone gets, they will either become dedicated to your blog or they will unsubscribe, so just watch your numbers and see if they keep growing.
If your list starts to unsubscribe a lot, you might be sending out too many emails in a week, so hold it back and your list will stay healthy.
Build relationships with niche related websites
If you're just blogging for profits and not selling your own services or products, you'll want to build relationships with other niche related websites and your profits will likely increase. You can sell them ad space later on down the road or you can write up reviews about them in exchange for a mention to their entire list. The bigger the website you're building a relationship with, the better it will be for you in the end, so work with every website in your niche since you don't know who's going to get big lol.
Being patient is key to profiting through blogging
When it comes to blogging, it's one of the slowest ways to profit online, but it has a good user retention rate if done right. Your work will compile in a good way, make you more money, and this takes a lot of patience. If you're not a patient person, you might want to avoid blogging, because you'll start to slack off and not hit any of your goals, which will mess up your entire blog quicker than you think it will.
If you can follow everything I said above, you will likely have a blog that looks great and is loaded with content. People will gravitate towards you over time and they will stick around because of your opt-in email form. Don't advertise every chance you get because people will start to avoid you, and we all know that's not a good thing lol. Run your blog like a business and you will begin to see the fruits of your labor start paying off eventually And one of the best things about blogging is it's a stable income source if you build it right
