Why my account is always logged out in all clerks community?

After posting on all clerks community and simply close my browser, when I come back again to check something on the sites, I always have my account logged out requiring me to login back in once more.

This doesn't happen in some other online communities that I have visited, once I have logged in, it stays that way. What could be the cause of clerk's community logging out users account's once they close their browser?

I also notice this but not right after I closed the browser without logging out my account, maybe a couple of minutes or more than an hour. Not sure about this, but maybe it has something to do with the session. Maybe It is programmed to expire very soon.

I also think it is something to do with programming. I have been experiencing the same, yet I have not logged out.

Yes, its about the cookie has expiration so the account will logged out automatically when it becomes inactive.

It happens to me occasionally but I haven’t worked out why either. Other times I’ll be logged in all night and come to my account in the morning and still be logged in.

I also experience that. But, I don't get logged out just by simply closing my browser. I also don't know how long it takes for an account to get logged out when you close the browser. However, one thing is for sure. They're doing it for security purposes. You don't want other people messing around with you account when they have your phone in their possession. I think it would be best to keep it this way.

Yes, it is best to keep it that way. Imagine if someone gets a hold of your device and start doing non-sense or illegal stuff on your account (I mean dear God, I hope not). It also doesn't take that much time to log-in anyway, so it's all good.

I agree with you. Let's not be lazy, few taps on the phone won't hurt your fingers. Also, it's best to keep our accounts secured. I wouldn't mind clerk sites to be like this.

Better be safe than sorry. I also notice it not only on Clerk sites but also Postloop in general. Like if I closed my browser and opened a new one, I need to re-login my username and password.

I also have that observation but I don't give much on details. I have patience to go back and forth on a site. My main concern would be to get in and enjoy what the site has to offer. It's probably part of their security. I will just follow it according to their rule.

I have also experience such situation wherein my account is always logged out even though I automatically sign in it so that it will not be hassle for me to keep coming in the site. I think it is a kind of glitch in the site's system which prevent us from logging automatically. But despite of these I didn't bother much about it since I just simply logged in whenever it is log out, it is not a big deal for me.

I think server has capacity on how many logged in accounts can keep when they are in idle state. So often 60 minutes is the time you can remain logged in . After that cookies are reset. And you are supposed to log in again. That is something may have happened in such case. You can see that you should do tick the box keep me signed in at the login page.

Thanks for the insight. I have been wondering because I find myself in this situation.

I haven't thought of this, and you may be right. Server capacity can also be another reason why a few are forcefully-logged out of their respective accounts.

I also have this problem, even though I always click the remember password.

Make use of another browser to login to those sites. Sometimes, it may be that the browser that you are using do not adequately store up those passwords even when you save them and that is the reason you are always logged out. I have not experienced this issue at all.

Maybe because this is how their security works, they forced to log out one account that is not active to avoid someone else to use your account for bad intentions.

Yes, that's a good point. I'd much rather the small inconvenience of having to log in again than have someone accessing my account fraudulently. It's good to know that the site security here is such that if you leave the page idle it will log you out.

I think it has something to do with cookies or whatever it's called. I also experience this on some other sites, or maybe it's just the way the site is configured. In short, I don't know Why my account is always logged out in all clerks community? .

Yes, it's about the cookies, because cookies have an expiration.

Yes, I guess so. Cookies have conditions on them like it expires when you close your browser or after a certain period.

I also experience that with other forums but I don't really mind since I can just log back in. But I think someone is right that the site is forcing to log out our accounts for security purpose.

I agree. As long as I could log back in, I actually don't mind it. Let's just take it as they have their reason for logging us out due to inactive session. It's for our own sake too.

That is right. I prefer to have my account logged out so I know that I am the only who can access it. I use my own laptop but let us say that someone borrows to check his emails or another account. It is still safe if you will need to log in again so that person won't be able to get an access to this site that we are using.

I never experience it ever since. What I usually do is I log in and click the box that says remember the password. Check your log in details and you will see it there.

What kind of browser do you use?

Ensure that you keep your password saved as this is the only way that you are going to be able to handle things well. Also, you may have to try another browser to login if this kind of issues persist for you as well.

Maybe it’s one of their security measures for them and also for you. It's not that critical either. You can follow their advice to check the remember password box so you don't have to type it everytime you log in. I think that feature is more beneficial for us. It is for our safety.

Not a security measures from what I have learned. It is more of capacity to take logged in users in session and keeping them logged in. So once that quota fills in. It is going to log out users after 60 or so minutes. And often some random users may experience the logout action from the server. And that happens a lot of time.

I think that is the security of the sites. I dont really sure but for me that is not a big issue for me because I set my login credential on Remember me feature so it just one click away whenever it logout.

It’s odd that I sometimes have this issue on Ionicware’s sites as well. I have the “remember me” option ticked and everything, but it still ends up logging me out anyway. Thankfully I have my information saved in Google Chrome so it isn’t much of an effort to actually log back in, but still. It’s a strange glitch.

Oddly, I have the same issue on Ionicware’s other site, Postloop. Ever since they switched to the new model, the “keep me logged in” feature has been broken and I have to sign in every time. I’m sure the issue will be addressed in the future, as they might not even be aware of it.

I also experience the same thing. I guess it is for our account safety and for the site itself. Since it is a business platform, it will be much safer to put an expiration to every session of every account logging into it. There might be a chance of getting hacked and use your account in providing such services that it wasn't you who did it.

I also encountered that but for me it is not a problem maybe it just their security measure for our account to be more safe. But i think by saving your password in your browser it may work also, there are some cases that your account may log out but you don't need to type again your email or password just click the log in directly.

Hey there!
Yup, I encounter this issue too. I honestly have no idea, and not that it's annoying or something, but somehow time consuming. I believe they do it when they refresh their website? Maybe it's something related with cache? God knows.

Before the site underwent a facelift, all my accounts in this site and sister sites are all logged in automatically. But after the remodeling of the design, all my accounts are logged off automatically that I have to log in every time I enter. But that’s only for the computer browser because the apps in the mobile browser are working well with the automatic logging in.
