What is your daily motivational routine?

I think, all of us has experienced being so lazy in freelancing at some point of our lives. This is not an easy field. No work is meant to be very easy anyway, especially if you are paid generously. But, sometimes, even if your income is low or incredibly high, you lose your drive. So, my question is, do you have a daily motivational routine to keep yourself going? What are your secrets in keeping up with the stress and tight competition?

I set up what I call mini goals or daily goals which when achieved daily for 6 days would realize my weekly goal, which usually are items or products which I like to buy.

The way I do things is that I always have a minimum weekly goal when it comes to my earnings. I would then divide my weekly goal into 6 days and would then strive to hit my daily goal. This motivates me because every week I would have the money to buy whatever I have in mind.

This is a good strategy, especially the minimum weekly goal. I have been using it, but I realized it was not working, and I decided to use the mini daily goals.

Nice one my friend. You have given me an awesome idea on using minigoals per day. I think it is more achievable.

Sounds like a great plan, setting up little goals to purchase things you may need/want.. sounds highly effective.

That's a very detailed plan that you got there. I actually envy you for having that and being faithful to your goals. It's not easy to not get tired of following the same steps like every day or week, yet you managed it.

Love the idea of mini goals. I feel like setting smaller goals is a great strategy so that you don't get overwhelmed and give up - often if I set big goals they seem completely impossible to achieve and it's hard to really get motivated to accomplish them.

Yes, sometimes I become too lazy to do any work but the point still remains that money will be made,so I prep myself up by looking at my bucket-list to see what I really need to accomplish with money and this kind buckle me up to work.

That's really nice. Same as you, I also set short-term and long-term goals. I am working out my short-term goals daily and it's been a daily struggle for me.

One thing I do is to never get all stressed up. If I feel that the situation is getting stressful then I take a breather. There's no sense to continue on working if im feeling stressed. So I rest or do some recreational activities to dissolve the stress in my system.

Prayers are good motivators. I pray and ask for guidance and blessings daily. What I've noticed is that prayers really motivates me. It also gives me confidence in what I'm doing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. Prayer is the highest form of motivation. It also set our mood for the day. Through prayers, you are insured of God's guidance and protection as well as wisdom in what you are doing.

That's right. He gives us all we need in order to be successful in life. As long as we're devoted to Him, everything will be okay. I hope the whole community can have a fruitful last month of the year.

That's really nice. I agree. Prayer helps us accomplish things in life. It makes us feel confident in whatever we set out to do. Nothing is impossible with God. So let's stay motivated.

I agree with you. I also pray for God's help and guidance. I ask Him for supernatural strength.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I was going to say this as well. Whenever I lose the motivation I just pray for it. I have a lot of faith that if I ask I'll receive it specially if it's for my own good. Prayer is a very powerful thing, it really is.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is really a huge help. Everything comes from God, so, we should ask from him. As for me, I pray and meditate. I think of my family all the time. They are my greatest motivation.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Well, that's certainly a great motivator. I've started to pray more often than I used to, because I've noticed it makes me feel more relaxed during the day, and I feel like I'm sharing and deliver my heavy issues out, so that makes me feel more comfy. Doesn't matter what you believe in, you have to believe in something superior to us, and for sure you will see how your life gets amazing guidance.

I agree with you. There is nothing more better than praying. All our desires needs guidance and blessing to be able to accomplish it. God is always a good provider and great protector. It's a good motivation to fulfill our daily tasked in life. It's a good encouragement and inspiration.

Daily I would look at my Bank Account and my PayPal account just to see all the money I've saved. Doing this motivates me to earn even more so that I could save good money.

In short, money motivates you to work. I always check my accounts, but I also have a daily target of marking not less than $5.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Haha! Same here, I check my balance every once in a while and see if it's growing or not. If not, then it's time to get off my ass and start working.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. I do this too. Whenever I checked my bank account, I feel motivated to earn more. Money is really one of the main motivation of a person. Money is important for me to support me and my family.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Hahaha... that's a funny but good motivator too. More than checking my accounts, I'm checking all the bills that I have to pay, and believe me, if that doesn't motivate you, then you must be from out of this planet. So, whenever I feel lazy, I just see my bills laughing at me, and there I go guys.

I love setting financial goals myself. Reminding myself of the monetary incentive from my hard work can be enough to spur me on and encourage me to get some more work done. I'm trying to set some goals for 2019 to pay down my mortgage faster, and reminding myself of that is very helpful in motivating me to crank out tasks that will earn me more.

I thought I was money narcissist for doing this every single day. Glad to see people in the same boat lol. It really motivates you sometimes when you don't feel like working but you have to earn money for the day. It also helps making your wallpaper the list of things that are your goals financially. Like earning money for your car or your kids' education fund.

My daily motivational routine is to watch at least one motivational video in YouTube right after I woke up and then visualize for the things I desire, the things I want to accomplish and then feel as if I already have those things and then that's it prepare for a long day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's actually a great technique. I haven't tried watching a motivational video right after waking up and first thing in the morning, I usually just check my social media. Perhaps, it would work for me, I should try that tomorrow, because as of the moment of this writing, it is already midnight and I hope I don't forget to do it. Thank you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I like the idea of watching something on YouTube! I often do the same kind of thing but with motivational podcasts. When I'm getting some stuff done in the morning when I first wake up, or when I'm eating my breakfast I often sit and listen to a podcast that helps to set the tone for my day. It certainly boosts my motivation to get stuff done a lot. TED Talks in particular are helpful!

I couldn't agree more. As for myself, I need to pay for the electricity bill, the water bill, the internet bill, buy a sack of rice, LPG, and so much more. Glad I still don't have kids, I'm not saying I don't want to have them, but if I do, I'm sure it will also be in this list.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

All I need to get me going is a tumbler of ice-cold coffee. During times when I feel sleepy or just in the mood of procrastination, I take in caffeine then try to remember all the bills that I need to pay at the end of the month. That hits me in the head hard enough and keeps me motivated *wink.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I sometimes drink ice coffee or what we call Frappes. Specially on hot summer days and nights. Getting cooled off by a delicious drink can motivate me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly. And the caffeine helps too. Just take it in moderation as drinking too much might result in anxiety or hypersensitivity, those kinds of things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I find that without coffee it can be hard to get started too. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve come to rely on my caffeine fix. Once I’ve had a cup of coffee my overall energy and motivation levels are drastically different!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It does create a drastic effect on one's alertness. I guess age has nothing to do with it. It's just that when we grow older, we tend to have more responsibilities to take care of and so as a result, we rely on these caffeine fixes.

I always tell myself that quitting is never an option for me because there is no way a quitter is going to ever be successful in life.

This is my most powerful word of motivation said to myself a thousand times everyday.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You are so right. Winners never quit and quitters never win. If we keep repeating this words to ourselves then, you are going to strive hard to be a winner. Affirming words to ourselves brings changes to our lives. Words laced with faith happens.

For motivation the thing I do is to first of all start the day with a prayer, in my prayers I commit my day into God's hands, and asking Him to order my steps help me get sober for the day, and with that I'm motivated to think through my day, how I want it to be, the things I would want to archieve. This ability to plan out my day help heighten my confidence, my feeling of "in control" and there's nothing as motivating as feeling you're in charge.

What motivates me is my commitment to work. I need to value work because I feared of getting fired. I can't imagine myself being into that situation because of my tardiness and negligence. It is difficult to look for a job considering the age. Even, if I don't feel like working I always convince myself to work. Without it, no money, food, clothes and nothing for expenses. But, there are also instance that I make absences if I really feel the need. I need to balance everything.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Valuing the work that we do is something that is quite essential. I mean that you can't really get it right unless you are at that point where you get to understand that being committed to the work that we can do can be of good help in the long-run.

I always find time to do what I like the most in between my work to have motivation. It's either play some game for a while, watch a movie for an hour or eat my favorite food. It's very stressful to work all day long without anything that would really make you feel happy. Don't forget to sleep also. It would give you energy and some motivation to work or else you'll feel dizzy and lazy early in the morning which is a bad start for the day.

What motivates me are my students. I can't give them something that I don't have. I can't lead them to where I have never been. Because of them I am always motivated to do more, to improve my skills day by day and I always make sure that I'm always a step ahead of them. But my best motivation is my covenant to God. I made a covenant to Him that I will do my best in everything for His glory.

Most of us spends a lot of time at work and there are times that you don't wanna work but you have to. When I am being lazy at work, I just remembering why did I started this and my goals will kick in. Do not accommodate your laziness instead do something else aside from what you usually do at work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's true. Laziness is something that gets you a lot. Especially, just before you start working. The best way to get rid of it is to stop thinking about what you have to do.

Simply start working and don't entertain extraneous thoughts.

Funny we are discussing this subject. At the moment I am completely not motivated. I honestly don't know what it is. I don't know if I'm tired or depressed. I can't just turn my motivation on. I normally listen to various motivational speakers when I get up. For the last month or so I have not felt like doing this. Thank God its December and the holidays. I have decided that I will take my break earlier. I will wake up early, work for a few hours in the morning and spend the rest of the day doing things I like like reading books, watching movies, going for a walk, working out e.t.c. I think I'm just fatigued. Freelance working is no walk in the park and involves working for even more than 12 hours a day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I definitely think being fatigued and burned out can mean motivation is a struggle to come by. I think your plan to incorporate some rest is a good one. Ensuring that you’re well rested has a lot of benefits and it’s often just what we need to recharge our batteries and boost our motivation.

You should have a time management and daily goals or to do lists and for you to motivate more, you really need to push your self to work hard and make rewards for yourself in accomplishing something. What I do, I motivate myself thru remembering how my friend was being harsh towards me that she said that I don't have work and money. I want to slap it to her face and that's the time I get motivated to do my freelancing job.

Well, i dont have a daily routine that keeps me motivated to work all the time. Actually i prefer to do as much work as i can without getting mechanical. When you pre-decide things then eventually you do become very obsessed with the routine and its not always possible to work according to the routine. There are days when you are bound to work with a lot of energy and enthusiasm and sometimes you will feel tired after some hours of work. It is better to work according to the signals that your mind and body gives you. As long as you dont allow laziness and lethargy to overcome you, whatever amount of work you do everyday is good.

You are right about that. There are days when all you want to do is not work. When I'm in need of motivation, I often think of those goals I've set for myself. I do not really have a motivational routine. I have goals for myself and that is something that works well for me. I also think that having a deadline helps to keep me accountable. I have never been late with a service, as I feel it is really important to be on time. However, I do think a lot about my clients, which is a motivating factor right there. What I mean by this is that if they are not happy with me, then I am out of a job.
