How Hard Is Getting Reviews For Your Books On Amazon?

My biggest achievement this year was to write some books. This quest was successful as I have two eBooks on Amazon written by Meshack Bwoyele Keya, who happens to be me. Now the challenge I have is getting reviews for my eBooks. How can SEOclerks' members help? Can they buy any of the books and write a review on Amazon?

Deleting Reviews

One can use relatives to write reviews for your eBooks. Yet Amazon wi know and delete them. That will be bad, too bad. I cannot use my relatives. Another problem is my books do not sell in my country.

SEOClerks

I have wondered if Good Samaritans here can help. Is it possible!? I wonder!

I’ve heard of people giving away free copies of books and ebooks in exchange for honest reviews. That could be a tactic you could use to get reviews. I don’t think it’s unethical as long as you’re not saying to people “you must give me a five star review”.

I thought about this but changed my mind. That is like bribing. I need to get reviews from all over the world

I don’t think it’s bribing unless you’re literally saying to someone “I’ll send you this for free as long as you give me a five star review”.

If you’re simply requesting someone to give an honest review then I don’t think it’s like bribery at all, since someone could give you a one star review if they wanted to.

That is not necessarily bribing. It is done in different businesses too. You give out a free copy and you just tell them to review your book in exchange. You are not asking them to give it a good review no matter what, you are asking them to give out an honest review. It is one good way to have more eyes on your product.

Wait what? They can know when you have a relative review your book for you. Does that mean that some anonymous accounts cannot do the same? What about friends?

The reviews which really count on Amazon are reviews left by someone who has actually bought that product. So though it might be possible to have friends, relatives or someone else review your books, those reviews may not get you the credibility you seek.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
@Jeane yes I usually see on Amazon it says “verified review” when someone’s actually purchased the item off amazon and are then reviewing it. I guess that’s how they weed out the legit from the potential fake reviews.

Jeane
Before they started implementing the new system, there were so many fake, misleading reviews on the site. They had to do something about it eventually and they did.

I suppose some sellers can still get around that by reimbursing those who purchase and review what they are selling. Makes the reviews look more legit.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That is right. Somebody can buy it and review and then you refund them. That is a good deal to me according to how reviewing should go

Really? They can delete accounts of relatives? Maybe because you have the same IP address? Usually, by having the same IP address the same accounts would be deleted. Are you sure? How about friends? Ask them too. I will give a review if I have timeHow Hard Is Getting Reviews For Your Books On Amazon?.

You cannot expect people to buy your book and leave review. If you want reviews, you should give your ebooks for free and then ask your friends and family to leave reviews. Alternatively, you can also start a campaign on freelancer site. You can get a lot of reviews by paying people. These reviews will help you sell your ebooks.

That's one of my points as well. He could also have the option to reward the readers for a review. Or pay them, if it comes to it. However, I suppose that's somehow wrong, because the idea of a paid review is almost 100% going to be positive. Who would like to receive negative reviews by paying cash for them?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I thought @vinaya can do it because we came from far with her. You can buy the book and write a review. I can do the same for you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. The best way is you giving them free books. The first people that can give you reviews would be your family and friends. You can also choose to pay for people to review the book. These are the most used tactics of well-known authors. You have to fork out the money first before it comes back to you twofold or better yet, tenfold.

Hello there, what are the books about ? Is it an e-book or are there hard copies ?

I create websites focused on affiliate marketing. I have been having a bit of a think about doing one focused on book reviews and book news with links to buy. Amazon is an obvious affiliate.

Getting reviews is overall hard, because if you expect a member of the audience to write one then it will be rare, simply due to the fact that your audience must be really engaged with your material. It's hard to find dedicated fans. People are lazy to even leave a like on a YouTube video nowadays.

The best way of getting a lot of reviews is by using social media specifically Facebook. If you have a group post a review raffle in which those who would review your book would be entered into a raffle and will get the chance to win a nice price. I bet if you got a thousand members, you'll get at least 10-20 good reviews.

I have never tried doing a review about a certain book to amazon as I have never purchased something like that before since most of the time I am having some reviews on some gadgets that makes my interest. I think if I would be given a chance to have some reviews to some books out there I will probably do it with utmost sincerity and honesty.

It’s inexpensive though on amazon. From what I can see it’s only 99 cents to download. Once the Christmas rush is over it might mean that more people have free cash to spend. It’s hard to get people to deviate from a budget to make additional purchases at this time of year even if they are small ones.

I think getting genuine reviews is really hard. In fact people who want to get the good reviews for their book. They either have to buy it in such way they don't get caught. Or they have to really write good content. Either way it becomes harder if amazon chooses your account and revises it for the spam detection. Which makes getting good reviews harder.

Am grateful for your suggestions. I expected to get reviews from OnlineBookClub but it ranges between $100 to $300. The deal is not bad but to raise the money is the problem.

I don't think that it is hard to get reviews for your books on Amazon. They are websites where you can offer your book for free in exchange for a review. This reviews are a true reflection of what people really think because you are not paying them they will not write a review that favors you.OMG! $100- $300 for online book club, they pay $2 when you review a book, or you review it for free. This is true slave labor.

This is a man eat man society. They charge around $100 if they write reviews and promote your book for a week. Then it goes on increasing till about $300 for a month.

Just FYI if anyone has Kindle Unlimited on Amazon the books by the original poster are free to download! That might help anyone who was contemplating it.

I think Kindle Unlimited is often popular for users of Amazon Prime based in the US. Perhaps try reaching out to people based there to check and see if they have kindle unlimited.

Well, probably we should inbox. You can review my book and I will review yours. However be prepared for 300 pages. Ideally, the review should, however, come organically as people buy and read the book. However, I would be honest in any review. What have you written about? Mine is a Christian topic.

I honestly think that you should exert more effort in advertising your book in any way or any platform that's possible.it is because it would be hard o just wait for someone to review your book especially if you are not that well known.

Well, I think that you should try every method mentioned here in the post to market your ebooks. First of all, you can ask some of your friends and relatives to buy your ebooks on Amazon and leave a positive review about it. You can give away your ebook for free or at a very economical rate so that you will be able to get honest reviews about them. You can also think about paid reviews from freelance and micro job sites.

Getting a review for a book, whether it's a paperback or an ebook seems to be a pretty tough job most specially if your not a popular writer. My first two cents for your question is to give free ebooks as a sample for your reader. In my case, if it's a writer I'm not familiar, chances is I'll dropped it.
Give your demographics a taste test or you may choose to invite more friends and ask them to write a review for you without regards whether you are friends or not.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That is it. Free samples of the books is necessary. It is an option I have to consider

I have one freelancer friend who writes e-books and the main problem is in getting to the mainstream. All his books are sold and bought within his network of people and she is wondering how she could get the attention of strangers. That is one of the unseen issues when you are writing a book. All the while you think that the book is great but when it comes to selling you will know that no one is interested.

The best way to get reviews is to give away free copies for people to read and after you have gotten a specific number of reviews, you can stop giving it away free and put a price tag on it. Getting reviews on Amazon is very important as people would generally buy a book with great reviews than try out an unknown author whose work has received no reviews.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish2
I agree with you@Tehilah27. I think that giving a way a free copy of a book to read is the best way to go. However you need to realize that reviewing a book is rather hard work because the person has to read the whole book, sit down and write a structured review. It may be a consideration to pay. Though some people claim paid reviews influence the person being paid, how else will you get a review? I think that you should specify that you want an unbiased review.

I think one of the really effective ways to promote a book would be to ask bloggers or Instagram stars for feedback to promote the book. But if there is no money at all, then you can find several free bloggers, so to speak, beginners, for example, my friend is getting better The book of reviews on different resources and money for this does not take at all. She practices this and will soon become a professional journalist in this poverty. If I understood the question correctly

Great news! It may be too late, but I want to congratulate you on writing your books, this is my childhood dream. I love literature very much, though I often read fiction books. By the way, I always use this site https://freebooksummary.com/catego...sible-man-themes to read about books. I like to read the summary first, and only then decide whether I like the book and whether it is worth buying.
