Future of social media

Social media has evolve much these days. From a simple way of connecting with old friends to a much diverse platform wherein it has become a tool for business, politics, and promoting social awareness. Social Media has become a necessity in the lives of the people that are living today.

How do you see Social Media as a tool in all aspects of life in the coming future?

In the future, I believe social media will keep on improving. I foresee that there will be hologram of the person we are talking to. It is just like the person is with you talking face to face.

That would be really cool and it's possible to happen in the future now that Augmented Reality is improving very fast and Apple seems to be giving huge attention to it these past few years so if social media sites work with Apple or any other manufacturers, that's gonna happen maybe even sooner.

I like this idea, this would be nice. With this, it is easier to communicate with your loved ones, especially if they are abroad for work or something.

I hope in the future, they can enable people to use social media anytime and anywhere even without WiFi or mobile data. That would be convenient!

Social media has come a long way from what it was years ago. It revolutionized from being a simple tool for communication to almost anything. I'm thinking that it could be a tool for hackers to make billion dollar funds from users profile. Or possibly create a new regime where people are certified based on their social media network. Anyway, that is just a guess and the possibilities are endless. I hope though, social media revolution in the next year 20 years or son would truly be for the benefit of mankind.

That's the reality with social media the possibility will be endless. Because if social media can evolve from what we know before to what we have now then more should be expected before 2030. The fact still remains that social media has come to stay and it going no where soon.

I would ask the pertinent question, when you open our desktop/laptop or tablet what is the first site you go onto? I would argue that most people go onto Twitter or Facebook to find out about what is happening around the world. I'll bet not many read newspapers anymore. I think that social media has become the number one place where we all now get our daily dose of news from. Bye bye newspapers and television.

This is very true. In my opinion, I find newspapers and television less important since we already have the Internet. Smartphones and laptops are there which can offer us a lot more possibilities and services than what television and newspapers can give. You know, we can watch movies and series through netflix. We can read news online by just going to news portal websites.

I think that social media sites would become more popular and in demand as time goes by because people really enjoy using it everyday for different reasons. I think as long as social media sites will be used by most people then it might have a good and reliable future. As time goes by I observed that more people are being addicted to social media sites which becomes one of their favorite place to hang out.

I see social media in future as platforms that so much can be achieved with.it already breaking barriers and boundaries. The other day it was like a political weapon to kill a policy that was instituted by the government of the day in my country that wouldn't favour the masses and this was brought to Twitter which retweet and tweeting about the menance help to make such policy dead. So social media benefits now and in even in the future is ernomous.

I guess Social Media will be over populated in the near future. The number of irresponsible users will be rampant. It will be a ground for bad and good things. Conflicts will arise due to abusive used of freedom of expression. People will be more assertive of their opinions and rights even if it will harm others. Whether Social Media advance on the future I just hope that users will be responsible on using a platform.

For me, I think the future of social media is the Apps itself will post content for you. The microphone on your phone will listen and determine when you're having a sharable moment and auto-open your camera, etc.

That sounds kind of invasive, but... probably people would follow such a trend. I also think social media will integrate more with different technologies as it has done in the past. I remember it's been available on several devices that now are deprecated but where popular in its day. That's proof that social media will want to expand to anything that has potential.

It will integrate more into our lives. I don't really like this kind of invasive technology constantly demanding interaction and validation. Sometimes it feels as if you don't exist if you're not connected to a social media site. This somehow excludes a lot of people out of society. That's a negative aspect I always keep in mind.

Social media will develop for sure, but moreover, I think the majority of current one's will die out, same as MySpace did. I'd expect only Facebook to remain, and in theory, with the usage of a Facebook page you could gather a person's info for registration instead of asking him to fill out sheets and etc.

If you get stranded o a desert island and you don't have a piece of equipment with Internet access? Well, then you're screwed! But if you're anywhere in the world where you can access the Internet you will likely be active on a social media platform. Social media is not going away! If social media were going away they would have already shut down Facebook! LOL.

I believe that social media will play a huge factor in marketing and advertising. It might overtake the traditional forms of marketing like TV, radio, etc. Here, a lot of media companies filed losses concerning revenue advertising compared to last year.

Maybe all of the people depend on it and no more sense of humor may occur nowadays all of us have social media accounts and they give us smile and laugh out loud in terms of memes also give us reports and news every day, but if you think deeply there is so much social harassment or cyber bullying, fake news and etc. I hope the future of social media will be good for us not to defy us.

For some reason, I think the episode "Nosedive" on Black Mirror is possible as the future of social media, where we rate each other and your ratings define who we are because look at us now, we are defined by the number of our followers and likes.

In that show, there's also this technology that's embedded on their eyes and they can use like a screen, much like Google Glass.
If you haven't I recommend you guys to watch it so you can understand what I'm talking about and you can compare it to reality because it's an almost perfect reflection of our reality.

I think it's only going to continue growing. I think it'll be incorporated more and more into people's work life, as well. I've already seen such a substantial increase in businesses using social media platforms to promote their products and their brands - I think we'll see that trend continue.

At this point in time I just can't see social media decreasing. There's such a reliance on it by many people in many sectors.

Social media seems to be a privacy hell in that case. You can see that facebook is selling our data. And there is nothing we can do about it. So we do need new social network. And hopefully that new changes with the social media allows us to spend less time on it. Most of the social media being addictive. It can be definitely not a good idea for our health. So that is one reason I prefer to be with the social media that does not take much of my time.

Even with a social media account I'm still a private person. I don't like sharing anything about myself or my family on social media. I just use it to communicated with people who are far from me. I also get a bit of information from it as well and that's about it. Social media today has already taken off with marketing. I honestly don't know what else we can do to utilize social media even more now.

I think social media platforms will continue to grow bigger and bigger, as people become more and more dependent to it. At this rate, social media might just entirely replace visual and print media as the people's primary source of information and entertainment. Additionally, with the amount of data it has stored per user, the possibilities for social media are endless.

Social media sites is really susceptible to some scam sites since a lot of people are using it for their illegal activities and it is really sad to know that some people are taking advantage of it. I think social media will continue to grow in popularity and innovations will be coming. If you remember in the beginning that the Facebook was just for connection but now it has a Facebook group which can be likened to a forum and also a Facebook Page that is like having your own mini website. With Twitter that was meant for posting short messages of 160 characters have now included an image or even a video. Recently a tweet was expanded to 320 characters.

Social media is already controlling people and it will continue to do so. I'm afraid there will be a time when shady people or politicians can control people's beliefs and actions through misinformation and fake news. Social media websites are also known for stealing people's information. This is why I don't use social media that much anymore and I only use it for communications between friends and family.

Social media is a double-edged sword. It's definitely going to play a big part of the future, but there are going to be changes with the platform. Especially when more tech-savvy politicians start looking into the matter of policing it. Social media is such a great source of information, and that can be dangerous in more ways than one. My nephew knew how to type gibberish and send it to his mom's WhatsApp contacts and Facebook page just before he turned two.
