Advice on change to SEO title

Will a change to the SEO title on a published Word Press document cause a 404 error - IOW a broken link in future?

I did some research, took the plunge and changed the SEO title, thankfully with no break ;-)

No. It wont create a 404 error. Only if you changed the actual URL. In that case, you would want to create a redirect. If you are using Yoast, it will do it automatically for you.

Thanks! Although I was also told that even if I changed the actual URL it won't create a 404 error, only deleting the post will do that. Is that correct? I was trying - and still failing - to change the headline and lead image of the post to show up when I tweet it. It still shows up with the old headline and image on the tweet, but when anyone clicks onto the link, the new head and image shows up ... not what I want. Oddly, when I post it on Facebook, it comes up just as I want, with new headline and image. Any suggestions?
