    I don't think there is a specific number of backlinks you need for this.  For instance, the higher ranked pages will be worth more when it comes to backlinking.  So if you could give five pr 9 backlinks, that would be worth maybe 100 times more than five pr 1 backlinks.  Just go for the highest page rank pages you can find.  Get backlinks from those.

    You should have quality content as well as do follow backlinks that must have atleast pr4 or 5 to increase PR rapidly.

    A website only need 50 to 80 quality backlinks to get PR 2 position. Remember that only quality backlinks without quality backlinks. you cannot get high position.
