    Are there any RSS plug-ins that are lightweight?

    I have incorporated the RSS plugin, but the site is slowing down.

     I want to place it on a post page and would like to use it in a shortcode.
    Also, I would prefer a type that allows images to be attached.

    I don't know php etc. so I am looking for a plugin.

    I think your sites has become slower for other issues it doesn't not your plug-in. This plugin fetches an RSS feed, or multiple feeds, and displays them in an unordered list using shortcode which is always good for your site.
