    How do you improve user satisfaction for SEO?

    I recently read some articles about the relationship between user experience and SEO. It seems like increasing user satisfaction will help boost rankings and I understand that but the articles are quite vague on how to improve user experience. Here are some of the most basic ways to improve user satisfaction:

    • Mobile Optimization for mobile users
    • Fast load times
    • Quality content
    • Minimum hidden/deleted/broken pages

    These are pretty much the obvious things that Google has already emphasized. However, what other methods would you recommend for improving user satisfaction? Do you think this plays a big role for your SERP in 2016?

    One thing I always focus on when making one of my websites is the "User Friendly" factor. Your website can be extremely complex and user friendly at the same time. On the other hand, a website can be pretty basic but lack the key factors in making a website user friendly and in turn reduce the time on site, increase the bounce rate, lower conversions, etc.

    To make a website user friendly you MUST have a quick load time. If your website takes 10 minutes to load a page you will notice that no one stays on for even 1 page view. Look for a good hosting company (not godaddy, I've never had a good experience with their hosting) and set up a hosting plan with them. The plan doesn't have to be for a dedicated server, it just has to be quick enough to load the page quickly. You can most likely use a shared hosting plan but I'd advise you contact the hosting company to see how many websites they put on one server before you choose. Also, pick a hosting company that will give you a dedicated IP address (it will cost a little extra, but worth it) so you have an added bonus when it comes to SEO for your site.

    Another huge thing I like when I go to a website is if the menu and links are easily found and explain exactly what I'll be clicking through to. If it says "Articles" and when I click through to a blog, it's kind of annoying. Get links in your top menu, use a dropdown if you have a lot of sub pages to link to, and also get the links in your footer. Only link to your sitemap in your footer, no one wants to click a sitemap link in the header.

    Structure your pages so that there are images that explain what is going on with the website before I have to read anything. This will increase your friendly factor as well as reduce your bounce rate.

    User satisfaction is derived from a number of things. When a user lands on a site the first thing that he will notice is how quickly it loads. So you need to focus on this factor when choosing your site's hosting as it will have a considerable effect on bounce rates and on whether one is inclined to return to the site in the future. You could well be losing out on a very good and loyal potential customer and that would be a pity.

    User friendliness is very important. Once a user takes a first look at the site he is going to like it or not like it. It could be that he is using the site from a mobile device and so a mobile friendly layout is critical in such a case, and with the smaller screen managing to find what he needs without having to go through several pages is of essence. An eye for design and easy navigation are important elements in user satisfaction. Once a customer or user is pleased with his experience on the site he will most likely return again. Moreover there is a bigger chance that he leaves a comment or a review, which will in turn help in SEO. Many in fact consider customer reviews to be practically as good as backlinks for SEO purposes.

    Google has always maintained their end goal is to serve up sites on search results that cater to the user. Fast loading pages, info-rich content pages and well linked infra-structure leads to higher site user satisfaction; that can't be a bad thing for your search engine ranking.

    I will focus on the quality content because as I always say, content is the backbone of the website and without content, there is no website to speak of. With quality content, it should be original and unique which means there is no copied part and the entire content is yours. Also, the content should be inside the parameter of the niche not to mention that it should be reader-friendly particularly with the grammar. Having new contents often will increase the ranking of your website in search engines.

    Now SEO in particular is reduced to improving the user experience and meeting the needs of users . It is important that you are focused on quality and closing the pain of your client, then there will be success. Always use feedback and analyze the user experience using Analytics or pageview. Improve your UX and always improve the quality of your content and product
