One advantage of forums owned by non-profit organizations is the amount of donations that come in from their supporters. I have had some associations with forums of charitable institutions and even small organizations with advocacy. It was so easy for them to find donors for their financial needs. One such organization depended on the celebrities who are sympathetic to their cause. Those supporters were willing to endorse their forum for free. But for ordinary forums, I cannot say the same.
