How to make your forum members feel welcome

One of the ways I make my forum members feel welcome is by quoting what they've said and making a comment or adding to their thoughts. This lets the person know their post was noticed and usually brings them back to the forum for follow up comments. What are some other ways to make your forum members feel welcome?

I agree that quoting a post is one way of showing warmth in the forum. The poster will surely notice that quoted reply unless he is not checking the notification. Nevertheless, the quoted reply is there and he may chance upon it someday. I also appreciate other members when they that to my post because it gives me a feeling that I belong. Just a simple gesture like that goes a long way especially if the quoted reply was made by the forum staff.
