Do You Have Several Ways Of Member Interaction On Your Forum?

On my forum and blog, I have different ways to get my members/audience to interact and be competitive with each other.

I have a voting page (both on forum and blog), a games page (blog), and an arcade (forum) where the members can challenge each other and be competitive. I also offer prizes every so often to those who put forth the most effort to post.

How do you encourage your forum members to interact with one another?

We have weekly debates that allow members to engage in heated conversations over the current news events. And, this seems to be an enjoyable activity for all.

I love having debatable, controversial discussions. I, personally would enjoy that thoroughly!!
What's moderating it like?

The forum member pages have a place for status updates where you can comment and talk with other members and this is a popular social feature on the forum. In addition, we have a weekly contest for best post. The contest is not about most posts but the post which gets the most responses (not just the one word spam responses).

Having prizes for the games or contests is one good way of eliciting activities on your forum especially if the prizes are substantial. I would be glad to win a t-shirt with the forum name and logo printed. That would be a great prize. But what is the contest all about? I hope it’s not the most number of posts or the most number of threads. But whatever it is, I’m sure the members will be looking at the prizes.
