    Karma and reputation system

    Do you employ a reputation or karma system on your forum? And, does this type of system encourage favoritism or actually serve to let others know the true worth of other forum members.

    Of course, there is always room for abuse in any karma or reputation system that allows down voting of other members. What you could do is have it set to only award positive up votes. That way, members can express who they like versus dislike with such a system.

    I would say the karma system works better for it will keep every member on alert to obey the rules and regulations guiding the forums instead of acting anyhow simply because he/she is not a recognized members of the forum.
