Website traffic decreases during Christmas

Does your website traffic decrease during Christmas, or any holiday? Mine does. My traffic is mostly US based and my traffic has gone way down. I saw the same thing last year so I know it is holiday based and will return after the holiday is over. In fact, I see this during most holidays. Website traffic decreases during Christmas

I read the other day that 94.5 million americans will be traveling during the Christmas seasons. This means they can't get online as much as they did prior or after. :|

Stupid holiday.

Yes, I see a huge number of drop during the christmas season. I attribute this to people not being online. Traveling, spending time with family, watching movies, whatever. It happens every year for my websites. There are a lot of reports online that indicate this same thing as well.

Well from past 2 days my sales also decreased (I think this is due to holidays) and my website traffic also decreased.

Christmas Eve and day are two days that many people are not online. It is called the Holiday Slump. Many site owners experience it for up to 2 weeks during this time.

You just have to expect that at this time people are not surfing the net and are with their family and friends. It is a slump that mostly everyone deals with.

Lots of people go away for Christmas to join with their families and therefore don't spend a lot of time online. However come boxing day, everybody is online looking for the best sale.

Just plan around these days ahead of time and try to get everything you need done before hand and then take a few days off to enjoy holidays or just a personal vacation if you don't celebrate.

During the holidays such as Christmas and New Year website traffic decreases. That's because many people take a leave from work and spend a good time celebrating. This mainly happens to the website that is depended on the visitors from American or European countries. If your visitors are primarily from India or China, your traffic will more or less remain same during Christmas.

This slowdown of traffic during holidays is a given. Especially with the Christmas season when everyone here is busy with shopping and social events, the internet takes a backseat for a week or two. Even I was also shying away from work during those times because I want to enjoy the holidays. So if your income is dependent on the traffic of your website, you better be prepared with extra money for the income will be lower.

US traffic will get worse Nov 22nd on. Thanksgiving is on the 23rd, and almost no one will be online, at least not to most things. Facebook will still get traffic as people post pictures. Amazon will get a ton of traffic. Then, Black Friday is the 24th. It is the biggest shopping day of the year and almost a sport.
