Having a website to promote your affiliate links helps, however, website is not necessary to promote affiliate links. You can promote the affiliate links on social media as well as through email marketing. Online newsletter is a good platform to promote your business as well as affiliate links. You can also promote your affiliate links through forum signature and email signature.

When I started affiliate marketing, I didn't have a website, so you don't a website for that but there is some affiliate program that would demand one having a site. But for Amazon, jumia, konga etc.You don't need a website to start with.

I have plans of embarking in affiliate marketing because I have read so many inspiring discussions about affiliate marketing that I can earn a good amount of passive income. But I need to have a website where I can do the marketing activities freely and to my desire. If my site is monetized then that is also an extra income for me. I know of some freelancers who are into affiliate marketing without their own website but I guess it is better to have a website for that.
