Dealing with pushy salespeople

Whenever I try to buy ad space in a newspaper or magazine, the ad salesperson will usually turn into a bully and try to make me buy more ad space than I really want. That's not just annoying but a costly mistake as sometimes the market is untested. Do you ever have to deal with pushy ad sales people at magazines, newspapers or online?

If you get a rude salesperson, just hang up the phone and call back later to report them to the sales manager.

If you are dealing with an assertive sales person, that is better than an aggressive person who insisted that you must buy bigger ad space in order to comply what he needs not what you need. When you talk to the sales person, be careful of your tone and your emotions. DO not let him to pull your nose whenever he goes. You have to stay put in your position and let him know that you mean what you said. If he threatens you that you will not get a discount or missed the ad space, tell him that you will reconsider and hang up. Find another sales ad company. He is not the only pebbles on the beach, right?
